I'd love to, but my PS5 backlog is already a bit ridiculous! :P

Try having an Xbox with Gamepass…Totally unmanageable.

+5% at Shopback on consoles and games (Empty cart first!)

    • Stack with 2% off Amazon gift cards at Shopback and comes down to ~420.02, which I think is all time low?

      • +2

4% off gift cards if your superfund has access to https://shop.redeemyourgiftcard.com.au/

        • +3

Can get in with code "SHOPPER", even better!

          • @hybridex: Gift cards: $449 * 4% = $17.96

            Shopback: $401.18 * 5% = $20.06

            $449 - $17.96 - $20.06 = $410.98

            Is my maths correct?

            • @abc12345: Do you still get shopback cashback if you use gift cards? Ready to pull the trigger if that's the case.

            • @abc12345: Very close, there's a $1 delivery fee for the gift cards, so it's $411.98.

              • @hybridex: Spot on. Just placed the order and got an email confirmation from Amazon but no updates from Shopback yet. Hopefully it shows up later. I did have to login through a browser on my laptop instead of the phone by verifying the codes etc. Fingers crossed.

                • @gadgetfreak28: Did you get your Shopback confirmation yet?

                  • @abc12345: Not yet. Patiently waiting for it. Click history shows up the exact times I placed the order however I haven't received a confirmation to say that it has been tracked. Says it can take up to 2 days for it to happen.

            • @abc12345: $410 is a good price 👍

I eventually bit the bullet on this one too…

$440 eGift cards via Maxxia, 5% off with 1% CC surcharge = $422.18
              $9 paid = $431.18
              $20.40 SB cashback = $410.77

              Thank-you OP 🙇‍♂️

              • @muwu: Good that your shopback went through. Mine is still just showing under click history so I will report a missing cashback if I don't get an "approved" notification by tomorrow.

                • @gadgetfreak28: I haven't yet had tracking.

I believe SB states up to 4 days for tracking Amazon AU.

I'd wait until the end of that period before reporting missing.

I've often had tracking take more than 12hrs, sometimes more than a day…

                  • @muwu: Oh ok. I might wait an extra 2 days and make it a total wait of 4 days then. I bought stuff off direct retailer websites such as Rebel Sports and confirmation comes through within 30 minutes. Maybe Amazon is a bit different. Let's hope it goes through without much drama.

                  • @muwu: And the confirmation for $20.41 just came through. This is finally a good deal now :)

          • @hybridex: Thanks for sharing. Great help :)

        • Or 3% with Macquarie

        • What if the email delivery for Egiftcard takes a while and the product is out of stock by the time giftcard card emailed (lets say in 24 hours)?

          • @Succulent: That risk is real. I'd say it's very small. I've bought dozens of eGift cards and have never waited more than 5mins. For larger purchases like this, maybe only use an eGift card issuer you have experience with…

            • @muwu: I see. Last time I was about to do something like this for over 1k spending, the giftcard issuer (one of the superfund related benefit site) said that it may take 24-48 hours for the egiftcard delivery. I ended up not getting the giftcard as I was sure the item would have been OOS within less than 24 hours, as it was posted in ozb. Turns out the items were still in stock 1 week later….

        • Is redeemyougiftcard a legit website?

          • @luvyrselfish: I transferred the money to seller around 10am today morning , still waiting for gift card
will update once I receive it

            • @nit001: It can be anything between 1-10 hours. Also depends on how fast your bank normally process money transfer. Convert Swap GC to eBay GC takes under 3 minutes.

              • @Buy2Much: Thank you, I still haven't received the gift card yet and price has increased now to $489 :(

                • @nit001: Yeah I would not 100% count on redeemyourgiftcard for timely redemption if you believe the deal would not last the day. Most times I'd get within that time frame (same day). But several times, I had to submit a message through their web site to follow up when no GC redemption email came through after a day. Never got a response from them, but the GC redemption email came through within an hour later. I get the impression it is a one-man/woman/them band manually processing, occasionally missing one or two.

  • Is it possible to buy genuine white joycons separately?

    • Not at the moment… maybe they will make them available in the future.

    • +3

and each has its own exclusive games too.

    • Who asked?

…. and? Have you tried playing a PS5 on the bus?

    • +1

      Switch 64GB memory.
      PS5 667GB memory.

      What's your point?

A 500gb SD card costs under $100. So 1tb worth of SD cards for less than $200. Switch AA games take up less room than PS AA games either so it isn't a valid comparison.

Switch console + extra SD cards ends up being cheaper than a PS5 console.

Didn't realise you could play Nintendo exclusives on a PS5?

    • I don't understand why people compare console like computer?

      • They like to self justify their bias.

        • I have a theory it's just 13 year old kids. I can't imagine adults having console wars.

Surely adults can't be like this can they?

      My current predicament.

      Missing Mario kart

      • just give it a few days, you'll probably forget.

      • Mario Kart is so great. Buy it

    • Maybe me. Trying not to do so, though as I’ve got a massive backlog of games on o her consoles.

But… it would come in handy for an upcoming holiday… ;)

    • I was tempted but need to remind myself I already have a Switch and I’m holding out for The Switch Pro.

      • good thinking!

      • +3

Switch Pro is just rumor. There's basically no hard evidence that a Switch Pro is coming. I think the OLED version is the "Pro".

      • +2

I feel ya on that, I don't play mine enough to justify not waiting (only really purchase/play some of their big releases).

Pulled the trigger. For around $415 can’t complain ^^ especially when I’m planning on selling my current switch for around $350. $65 upgrade is good :)

    • Can you transfer content between?

      • You can link the devices so you can play the games on both devices. I don't know how it works in the case of playing the same game on both devices simultaneously.

      • +1

You can transfer over user profiles to another switch, this will bring over your account and save data. Only exception is animal crossing which has its own transfer tool on the eshop

  • The Sequel to the Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, pushed back to Autumn 2023. What’s the bet it releases alongside the Switch’s successor LOL

    • +3

What’s the bet it releases alongside the Switch’s successor LOL

      Slim.

      • They did this exact same thing with breath of the wild, so not so slim.

        • That’s because Wii U did not sell well. Switch still has demands and if there is any new console launched in 2023 I think will be a Switch Pro but not a successor that existing Switch games are not compatible with.

  • Paired with the new Kirby and Mario Party and daughter's birthday gift is all set.

I hate myself. Old Switch is sitting in the cupboard somewhere.

  • Anyone tried to call JB to PM? I don't play a lot on switch now. busy on Elden ring recently. But can not resist a good deal as an ozbargainer. Plus I've stocked too many gift cards.

    • Some JB staff set their own policies do not PM online stores some do although you can try your luck by pointing out to their own PM policy on their website if you want to go down that way. Good luck.

      • Will try to call their online store first tomorrow morning. I know some block stores are hard to deal with.

        • Lol, looks like it's too late, Amazon is back to 489.

    • The Southland store has refused to price match Amazon before so I didn't even try this time around. They just say Amazon is not a bricks and mortar store.

  • anyone can recommend any good SD cards deals to go with it?
