should be a good budget/bedroom 4k TV for gaming n movies?

supports Dolby Vision HDR & Dolby Atmos:

Dolby Atmos + Dolby Vision
Enjoy an authentic movie experience with cinema’s leading technologies. Dolby Vision HDR dynamically optimises colour, contrast and brightness, so you can watch each scene as the creator intended. And with the sensation of sound moving all around and above you, Dolby Atmos can help you feel like you’re right inside the action.

also supports VRR n ALLM but no 4k 120Hz……

Game Mode (VRR + ALLM)
Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) + Automatic low-latency mode (ALLM) turns on Game Mode when a gaming device is connected. Boost your chances of scoring legendary wins by significantly reducing input lag when on Game Mode*. Shorter delay between input and reactions to on-screen developments is particularly important for fast-paced, competitive games. It will give you the chance to perform a well-timed move when gaming hard.
*Does not feature HDMI 2.1 input and 4K@120Hz through HDMI. All HDMI inputs are 4K@60Hz.

  • Anyone know how to find out the size between the legs?

    • 7 inches give or take?

      • +1

        I doubt that

      • Close, 767mm, walked into that one lol

        • Heh, sorry mate you left that wide open.

If anyone is after them, the full specs are here

  • Would this tv need a sound bar for a bedroom?

    • +1

That would completely depend on your expectations.

I bought the 55" last weekend. Brilliant for the price.
    Like:

    • The smart interface is really good, we've disconnected our google Chromecast TV for the time being
    • Easy to set up most of the app in a few clicks through QR code (didn't have to type passwords again)
    • Feet are neat, really to assemble and stable
    • 4k upscale seems to do its job. I've downgraded Netflix to SD plan and can't complain about the quality
    • Sound is better than our previous Sony
    • Lighter and lower profile than old Sony 55"
    • Dark seem decent
    • Really good remote

    Like less:

    • Viewing angles are not great
    • Missing binge and paramount app
    • Which 55”?

Oh right, OP has changed the title.
        Hisense A7G 55"

    • Also can pair Bluetooth headset (remote is Bluetooth too). Settings is under network, not sound..

    • Is the TV still doing well?

    what do u guys think?
TCL 50C725 QLED vs Hisense 50A7G?
    $748 vs $640?

usage will be 50/50 for movies/gaming, looking for a budget 4k tv / display for bedroom.

  • Good guys commercial has the Hisense 55" for $39 more, $679

    • Any link or screenshot so I can claim price protection? :-)

      • I can link it but you would have to sign in with a account to see it, what did you pay?

        • $776 delivered

          • @ShouldIBuyIt: well delivery was probs $55 so only $42 more

            • @[Deactivated]: Delivery was $20
              I paid $795 -5% + $20 delivery.
I've got a year to claim PP, I can wait :-)

  • I have this in one of our rooms and it's great. Surprisingly good audio and picture for the price. Only downside is the sluggish user interface. We connected an Amazon firestick and it's better.

  • What's missing in the Big W EKO QLED tv vs these bad boys. Eko reviews seem ok (but there are lemons in the mix)

Does the EKO have the ability to adjust things like the backlighting and motion blur etc. I'm guessing you lose the customisation ability you get with TCL and Hisense? (Ie.one less control board inside to save a few $$).

  • I have a TCL 50" P6 from a few years ago and I'd caution anyone expecting "great things" from the software. It works, but it's buggy. e.g. instant on didn't work, occasionally turned on by itself, software freezes intermittently for a few minutes or completely and have to re-start the TV.

On the positive, the picture and sound is very decent for the price. I've given up on the TV's built in Android TV and now just have a Chromecast with Google TV attached to it. Runs SOOO much better than the built in software.

If you want Android TV baked into a TV, get a Sony OR stick a chromecast with google tv on it or any other Android TV media box. It'll honestly save your sanity.

  • Anyone figured out how to cast to the A7G or the capability is just not here?
