Stanley Fatmax V20 18V Combo Kit - with BONUS V20 18V Angle Grinder Skin - $249 @ Mitre 10

210

Spotted in the latest catalogue, thought the price for 3 tools and 2 batteries was pretty good.

Others will have to comment on Stanley power tool quality as I've only used their hand tools, and use Makita power tools myself.

I bought the drill/driver back when Masters had them for $125ish. Followed up with two separate purchases of a 4Ah battery and an angle grinder. No complaints for light duty work over the few years I have had them. The grinder is not particularly powerful, so still use the corded for sustained usage. Impact driver has had the most use and still performs well and have not had issues with power (predrill if hardwood)
I think price of grinder was about $100, 4Ah battery was $80, so all up spend around the $300 mark
none that I have are brushless
    .

    • Eyyy $125 crew represent! These seem like different drills though - my driver isn't hammer. Bloody love my drills and have been wondering if there are any other skins worth using the batteries on.

      • Hand in you ozbargain card, they went down to $99 at one stage 😀

        • Yep, I picked up the drill & impact driver set for $99 near the end of Masters and both have been heavily used & still going strong. Don’t think these V20 ones are cross compatible though with the older skins though.

      • As far as I remember you can use these batteries on Black+Decker tools (maybe with some minor modifications, such as filing off a tab).

  • interested to see what Bunnings come up with to match this

I always do the quick division in my head to see unit price - $41.50 each.

    • +1

Come again? Calculating unit price on different items seem pointless.

      • +3

        Would I pay $41.50 for a 2Ah battery? Yes
Would I pay $41.50 for a battery charger? Yes
Would I pay $41.50 for an impact driver? Hell yes
        etc etc
It's quick, it's dirty and it works.

Any Oz Bargainer who doesn't do mental division should really sit down and revaluate their life choices.

True, it kind of works for deals like this one.

Not so useful for 100-piece tool boxes with 90 cable ties.

Stanley would be better, but when you want to add more there are less cheap deals around whereas Ozito matches Aldi so those add ons are less. Stanley deals arent as often

  • Bargain. They are really good.

  • Yep but this one from Masters Home Improvement was the best (Goner).

You'd be better off buying Ozito

  • I got the 2 drills + 2 x batteries back in the day for $125 from Masters. They’ve been excellent.

  • also got masters deal. then a reciprocating saw for about 100. great deal, still works well. but not many options for other tools so ended up with the brands in parallel…

  • Is this Brushed or Brushless? I dont see it says if it is brushless.

  • And what size is the bonus angle grinder? 115mm or 125mm?
