  • If they are any misleading information please do let me know. :)

    • -4

First misleading info is that its not a "Tablet PC", its an Android tablet.

      • +1

        pc
        Abbreviation:

        Past Commander.
        Personal computer.

        com·put·er/kəmˈpyo͞otər/
        Noun:

        • An electronic device for storing and processing data, typically in binary form, according to instructions given to it in a variable program.
        • A person who makes calculations, esp. with a calculating machine.

        Technically this is a PC.

        • -1

It can be personal and it computes things. Makes sense ;)

That said, it can't hurt to add 'Android' on the title.

        • -4

          original PC = programmable circuit

IBM stole it, and programmable circuit change to PLC - programmable logic circuit ……

        • -1

          @edgar28 - A PLC is a Programmable Logic Controller

        • It can be personal ….especially if you watch PORN on it :-)

  • Is this wifi only?

  • +2

Yes I believe it is Wi-Fi only. I think it is a good price for Tegra 2 based tablet with 16GB and 1280x800 screen. In this CNET review it does not compare well with Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7, which is almost twice its price.

On the other hand, I don't think I trust Toshiba that much with their support of Android. Many Tegra2 devices have already received ICS updates, but AT100 users are still waiting for theirs…

    • +1

It is one 7" Tabs with better resolution 1280 x 800. However, it is not the slimmest or prettiest. Good entertainment while waiting, also right size for kids to use, as it is less heavy.

    • Yep. I +ve the vote on the basis it is good price for a good machine. However, Toshiba are the WORST in the industry for after sales support with their updates for anything. I've been bitten more than one occasion in the past thinking that they may upgrade their products to later software, but was sorely disappointed that they didnt (eg. their WinMo PDAs). This behaviour is exhibited across their whole range including sparse support for their laptops and all.

Look at the bezel on this sucker…did Moses have one?

    • The bezel is apparently the same width as the Samsung Galaxy 7 plus

In fact, CNET says the size difference between the SG7+ and ToshibaTab is pretty negligable.

    • +2

If you've not used a 7"er before then you don't realise that the bezel is important for being able to hold the device in one hand while using the other to touch. Its not like a phone where you can easily grip it around the back edge to edge. And its not like a 10"er where you have to hold and rest it on something.

      • inb4… Thats what she said.

      • +1

i don't know how you hold your 7" (cough cough), but i hold mine edge to edge in portrait, and with my thumb only ever so slightly on the bezel in landscape (in which case the thumb is not grasping the bezel, it is merely holding the leverage of the weight from the far side of the tablet). i do not hold it by the bezel.

i think it depends how you hold it. basically the difference is whether you hold it with your hand and wrist outstretched (so it's resting on your hand) or whether you hold it by grasping the bezel (with your wrist bent). i find the resting method more natural/comfortable.

either way, i personally would prefer a thinner bezel.

  • Good price to use as ebook reader for the mother in. Law

    • Too extravagant for merely reading text!

    • +1

depends on the type of books she will read.

if she's reading pdfs with lots of images (like cookbooks), and reading for shorter periods of time, then maybe yes.

if just for normal text ebooks, and reading for extended periods of time, then probably better off with an e-ink ebook reader.

  • According to Shoppingexpress:

    Dimensions

eek, that makes it a little unwieldy…
