Back with another Aqara smart home deal and this one is on the single button Aqara D1 Wireless Switch which is wireless with a CR2032 cell battery instead of being hardwired like some others.

It's designed for controlling Zigbee smart home sensors, such as smart lights. When configured you can simply tap it to turn on the light and tap it again to turn off. You can also use the Aqara/Mi Home app to wirelessly control the smart lights or other sensors through this wireless switch.

Compatible with Zigbee hubs like Xiaomi, Aqara, Conbee, Zigbee2MQTT and more. The switch also supports Apple HomeKit, Amazon Alexa and Home Assistant when paired with a Zigbee hub.

  • How to do a retro fit installation?
I think aussie switch is different size.

    • +1

These are not smart light switches, ie they don’t connect to mains. They are a battery switch that talks to a hub to turn smart devices on and off that are connected to the hub.

    • It doesn’t Need to be hardwired.

Ikea has Zigbee switches for $12, normal price.

  • Thanks OP. It looks like way overpriced for a single switch, will wait for a better deal on double switch before buying :)

  • Anyone know of the Tradfri hub is any good? Need one to control my yale/Lockwood locks

  • hmm Hue switches seem better and go on special for a similar price

    • Hue is a less flexible platform than ZigBee however.

      • Hue switches are zigbee compatible,

Using them with the Sonoff dongle from previous deal in HA

        • Yeah you can use Hue switches with other Zigbee hubs like Sonoff but you can't use a Hue bridge with non-hue sensors.

          • +1

@Clear: True, but not sure why that's relevant when comparing Hue vs Aqara switches

  • Any deal on the double button?

  • I have the double. Yes they're more expensive than other options like tradfri but user experience is much more pleasing. It's like the difference between mechanical vs membrane keyboard when pressing. Buttons are much larger so very easy to hit while walking by. Also look more minimal/cleaner or like it's been professionally installed if you're looking for WAF.
