Got binge for a year for nothing. Bit Stingy from Telstra just getting 3 months Disney for quite a bit of reward points. I got a year of prime for free via optus and half a year Netflix for free from Optus, too.

Sounds like somebody is a tad stingy..and it’s not Telstra

  • I'm assuming the "If you have an existing Disney+ subscription that’s billed directly through Disney, this existing subscription will be paused." means with my current sub ending in Nov, it'll instead end in Feb instead, rather than not being able to use my existing subscription while the free Telstra one is running?

    Anyone else tried it already?

  • if you are a silver member, this will be renewed for 0 points .. i.e. free

    • Where did you find this?

      • +2

login to telstra plus and try adding 3 months of Disney+ for 5000 points. As I did it, it deducted 0 points and renewed my membership for 12 months.

This is only applicable for non-active disney+ accounts

          So you have Telstra Broadband?

        • +1

I just tried this and you are right. It gave me 12 months membership and deducted 0 points!

          Thanks!

New subscriber, went to redeem and had a free 12 month subscription to redeem as I have an internet plan. Good outcome

  • Grab Fetch TV free 1mth Disney+ , then use this?

  • Anyone already on an annual sub tried it?

  • +1

yeah it pauses the sub and uses this one, once you cancel this it will resume.

    • Doesn’t seem to have done that for me. I have an existing iTunes subscription.

In my account settings, I now have two subscriptions listed! Will need to contact Disney+ to sort out.

I got in touch with Telstra support.

Apparently, I need to cancel my iTunes subscription for three months, then resume it, once the Telstra three months have expired.

Obviously, anyone with an existing iTunes subscription should look to redeem the Telstra three months only at the end of their current iTunes billing cycle. Then they smoother transition over to the free Telstra months, and then back to iTunes once those months have expired.

        • Thanks for this. I was curious to know what would happen but I wasn't game to try it as the T&Cs have this:

If you are an existing subscriber to Disney+ via any other third-party platform partner, such as Apple, Google please call the Disney+ help centre on 1800-965-160 to discuss your options.

        • I hit this today (Google Play) and had the same outcome. I actually forgot that I had subscribed that way!

Did you then cancel your Telstra sub? Or will you wait until the three months is up?

          • +1

@mrmckeb: I cancelled my iTunes subscription, as coincidentally I was two days away from the end of my billing cycle anyway.

So now I will continue for the next three months with my Telstra subscription, after which the Telstra subscription will lapse. And then I will revert to my iTunes subscription, by reactivating it.

  • It shows up on my account (which is active) and I have enough points but when I click redeem I get:
    "Sorry
There were no offers associated with your Telstra ID.

Please ensure you have an eligible service linked to your Telstra ID via Telstra 24x7 MyAccount under account settings.
Once you have added a service to your Telstra ID, please login again.."

    • Disregard. I only have prepaid services. It specifies you must have postpaid. D'oh!

  • "For Telstra consumer post-paid customers"?
"A $10 pre-paid sim starter is 3000 points so 5000 points is worth around $16.67"
    ???

    • It's my way to gauge what points are worth. YMMV

  • Does this stack? Like if I get the 50k (or 100k) points from the nbn deal can I just redeem it all in one go for 4+ years of disney+? Lol

  • only have pre-paid service, :(
