Philips Hue White & Colour Ambiance Smart Bulb Non Bluetooth [E27] - $60 + $8 Delivery ($0 with $100 Order) @ Simply LEDs

70

Hopefully, I don't need to explain the advantages of the Philips Hue Bulbs over the other brands as it's been discussed many times.

One of the best deals for a colour Hue Bulbs at the moment.

This is the non-Bluetooth version of the bulb but at $60 a bulb, it's a pretty good deal.

Equally, if you need to get a Hue Hub with the bulbs there is a three bulb pack with the hub here
https://simply-leds.com.au/products/philips-hue-colour-start… for $195.00 so works out at $60 per bulb and the hub for $15 rather than approx $50 you can normally find it for.

What is so special about these lights apart from Bluetooth?

OP, is hoping not explain. Good luck there.

  • Ikea tradfri bulbs work fine with hue bridge or zigbee controller.

    • I added a couple of tradfri to my hue setup, but they were very fiddly to pair, needed to be done with a different app, and required the bulbs to be within very close range of the hue hub (like less than 1m) to pair, which is pretty difficult when the bulb is in the ceiling. And quality doesnt seem great - a couple of them don't go completely off when they are supposed to be off - you can see a faint glow all night so I had to move them out of the bedroom to a hallway where that wouldnt really matter. Hue is more expensive, but I've had no issues with the bulbs (motion detectors is another matter).

i purchased the Arlec RGB globes 3for $25 and they do the job just fine

    • Have you used other brands?
Arlec are rebranded Tuya globes and they are of the worst quality by far. You can easily see the actual LEDs within the globe, their colour range/depth and range of brightness is poor compared to the big names.

Having said that, they do the job of having providing coloured light. Also worth mentioning hue uses Zigbee not Wifi

      • No haven’t used other brands. I haven’t noticed the leds in the globe, i don’t stare at the light that closely. Provides colour/light in plenty of shades. Does the job, and is very cheap. returnable to bunnings easily.

  • Older generation bulbs for $60 without Bluetooth? Amazon has the newer generation bulbs at $56 a bulb ($112 for 2) and these have Bluetooth

Limited-time deal: Philips Hue White & Colour Ambiance Smart Bulb Twin Pack LED [E27] with Bluetooth https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B099NRDQL4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i…

    • The limited time deal has ended apparently.

It's a shame the color Hues are so expensive. I suppose they'll go down in price (as the white ones have).
