Price match with JB and use perks coupon to get it for $3.96?

    • +1

      Definitely could do that :)

      • +1

sweet. Thank you. I'll probably try to pick one up today :)

    • thanks to both you and OP for linking the pages

    • +1

denied just then in live chat by Naz.

Thanks for waiting! I'm afraid we are not able to price match on this occasion, as this is below our staff price

      great deal though!

Is there anything else I can assist with today?

      • Try again, hopefully someone else connects.

It's a legitimate price match request.

        • Can they deny price match if it's under cost price? I know some retailers have that in their PM conditions.
Just checked. Excludes coupon promotions. There's no reference to excluding if below cost, the cloest I can see is the coupon promotion.

          • @cookie2: No idea, but for a few dollars I'm surprised they would actually deny it for any reason.

        • Yeah i got another one saying no straight away. Didnt bother fighting for it as not worth the hassle

aldi are selling one at 9.99… not sure if better worse than this but I don't imagine there would be much difference https://www.aldi.com.au/en/special-buys/special-buys-wed-11-…

    • +3

I haven't tried that specific Aldi one but the difference between the Philips and every other cheap no name brand I've had is night and day . For an extra $3.97 I would absolutely get the Philips.

    • +1

Big difference Aldi has 3 year warranty ;)

    • +1

I have an Aldi one and it is pretty crap, doesn't really shave off anything.

    • The Philips actually works. And i think the aldi one is bigger too.

  • Till now i thought this is facial shaver 😂

    • nor trim the bush. You're been warned

      • Even the small bush?

        • all bushes matter

  • Thanks OP, got one

This thing is ~$5 at any dollar shop

    • No it's not. Cheap crap no name brands are there.

      • -1

2 years using it - still works, just replace the batteries, no issues. Definitely much cheaper thing than $14

        • Whilst I can't speak to the one you have, every no name brand I've tried has been significantly worse in functionality vs the Philips, not just longevity.

Philips picks up more in half the time in my experience.

      Reputable brand?

      • -3

Noname. Would you look at brand when buying drinking straws?

        • +2

My comment was a sarcasm, drinking straws is a different comparison

        • +1

          2 thoughts:

Depends, since the phasing out of plastic straws I'm more likely to given the quality of paper straws varies widely. Some break up and go soggy, becoming quite useless, so I'd avoid those brands yes.

Comparing an electrical device with battery terminals, moving parts and blades to drinking straws is about as bad of an analogy as I can imagine.

          • -3

@cook99: Anyway, this is a very simple device, as straws

            • @alexshel: Either excellent troll or terrible something else. I'm out, good day sir.

  • Just want to ask those who had products that failed on them. Did you do regularly maintenance on the product or just use it? I had a similar product last a couple of years working no issue just didn't pass a drop test lol

    • +1

Regular maintenance on a $13 fabric shaver? Surely your time is worth more anywhere other than at your workbench cracking open the ol' PhillyShave3200 to give 'er a good going over every 16 shirts (or 2 rugs).

FROM JB:"I'm afraid we are not able to price match on this occasion, as this is below our staff price"

    • +1

      Got the same reply.

$9.99 at ALDI, plenty at my local.

    • -1

Can get one at ~$5 at almost any dollar shop. Not sure why some people (ozbargainers??) are paying extra for a brand name.

  • I already used my JB perks $10 voucher to get it at full price. Do I have any options to save my sweet sweet $5

  • These are awesome. Brought some of my older woolly jumpers back into rotation. Just in time for winter too!

  • +1

Will this remove the annoying pills from my StepOne undies?

  • +1

Would something like this removed bunched/pulled threads on my fabric couch? My cat has put his claws into it a couple times

    • +2

Yup, totally. My cat clawed fabric dining chairs and this thing brought them back to looking almost new again.

Awesome little device these things, and oddly satisfying. :)

      • Sold! Thanks :)

    • +2

From my experience with the xiaomi one, it isn't powerful enough if you're talking long strands of strings coming out. Any string under 1cm this should be able to trim it down with a couple of rotating passes.

Anything longer then you'd need to use hair clippers

      • 2nd this. Hair clippers work well for pilling on a couch, but you have to have a steady hand, or you'll shear straight through the fabric.

  • Thank OP, got one!

  • +1

    Daiso sells one for $3

    • Exactly!!! This is what I am talking about. I thought its normal price is $5, but you got it even cheaper

  • Got JB to price match on chat for a C&C. No hassle. Thanks OP!

  • If you have commbank rewards, can stack with this GC deal
