This deal still works and will even work for Hot & Spicy pieces that were just added to the KFC menu Australia wide for a limited time.

Hot & Spicy (Australia wide) is now over. Hack still works for 4 pieces or original recipe or 5 original tenders with 2 dipping sauces.

Update 26/09/22

There is a new update out for the KFC app with a completely new UI. Thankfully this hack still works if you follow these steps:

  1. Open KFC app, sign in and choose your store
  2. Select Menu
  3. Select "Shared Meals" header up the top
  4. Select "Mixed Feast" and then click "Add to order"
  5. As soon as you press "Add to order" you will be offered a section of add ons, in this case we want to select "4 Pieces Original Recipe ADD ON" and/or "5 Original Tenders ADD ON" and add them to the order
  6. Select Cart and press on the small down arrow next to "Mixed Feast" and press "Remove"
  7. You are left with the add ons in cart. Checkout, and enjoy!

    Just voicing out similar frustration that H&S isnt available all year long despite the original itself tasting, well, too salty and nowhere near as crunchy as the H&S.

    I remember reaching out to KFC facebook page or twitter and requesting for it to be made available all year long and they said to reach out to the individual franchisee as some stores are owned by Yum! brands and others by Collins Foods?

    I think the stores owned by Collins Foods are the ones that usually had H&S running all year long.

    This has been discussed here apparently.

    Why is hot and Spicy only a limited time thing when it's so much loved and should replace the original imho. I know Queensland has it all year around but Vic surely misses it most of the year

      I agree that it tastes far better.

      The reason it isnt avaliable the entire year in some stores is because nearly nobody buys it when it is, im talking maybe 1/6th the sales of original recipe outside of promo periods.

      It sells very well as a limited time item but very poorly as a permanent menu item.

        Really appreciate your reply, I am sure things are changing now, red rooster too now have launched a hot n spicy version of their fried chicken, im sure KFC will realise this soon enough that year on year sales of the hot n spicy are on the increase. Maybe one day VIC will get them like QLD.. I can hope eh' :)

        I don't think they do H&S all year round. I asked them about 6 months ago and they said they don't do H&S, only when KFC run the promo. Anyone else been there recently and purchased H&S before this promo started?

    What's the taste between hot and spicy and the wicked wings/zinger? I've never tried the hot and spicy but it sounds popular among ozbargainers that I'm intrigued to try it. Just wondering how different it tastes, and is it actually spicy since the wicked wings are quite mild in heat for me.

      It's the same coating as wicked wings and zinger burgers. It's just covering full chicken pieces.

    Why not just pay 6.95 for 6 spicy and crispy add on? You get two more pieces. I do have this add on option after i add cheap as cheap deal to my cart

    i had one amazing thing with kfc, one day i was trying to order X pcs chicken for $Y but turn out that option is available only when we buying a package/set meal (as add on).
    i must be looking like a poor guy so the staff told me dont worry i can do that price for you.
    and then inside the box i see he added 2 extra pcs as well ! thanks. last for lunch and dinner that day

        I usually get 9 originals + [6 wicked wings x2] = $26.35
        Assuming 9 originals in build your bucket now is $13.45, then 12 wings works out to be $12.90 ($1.08 each) as opposed to $1.20 each (10 wings @ $11.95).
        Build your bucket is cheaper than ordering separately :(

      Love this, very informative. But what are you gonna do with 12 bits of chicken? KFC isn't fantastic the day after, Korean style chicken keeps better imo.

      Disregard my comment if you're buying for a family. My personal opinion is that the $7 is a perfect offering for one person but you are right that it doesn't scale well

        I think you misunderstood my question. I can get the receipts but, I cannot get the rewards if I order online even though I have done the feedback, they don't want to accept it.

          There is no way to automatically add the survey rewards to online order. Alternatively, you need to order on app, and pay at the counter. Let them know you have survey when you pay.

          I just done it yesterday at sydney cbd.
          Just go in show your online order on app, they will search on their screen to make sure its real, then tell them you have a survey paper and would like chip and drink.
          They done it for me. They will issue another receipt with zero dollars

              @embi: They're 100% wrong. Staff used to tell me this but I haven't needed a printer for over 2 years, so I contacted KFC about it. Read my post below this one to see what happened, but basically you could either print and use the emailed receipt, or contact KFC via PM on facebook. Explain what they say, that it's inconvenient for you to print and carry an A4 page in your wallet for their ADVERTISED SURVEY, that you know other people who contacted KFC about this same issue, could they please do the same as they did for those other people and inform the branch of their responsibility regarding receipts. Be polite about it because they will make the manager contact you to apologise, say they've updated their staff, maybe give you a credit at that particular store, etc.

      They're legally required to provide you with a printed receipt at point of purchase if you require it. And that's regardless of them emailing you a receipt. I asked KFC HO who confirmed this.

      So I ask for… my receipt, or if you can't find it any receipt will do, it's just for tax/the survey purposes. After KFC HO contacted that branch and updated their education I no longer have problems getting a receipt. Not until a staff member comes from another store. In that case I say I've had staff say that before, HO confirmed it's a requirement, but I don't care if it's my own receipt, anyone's receipt will do for tax/survey. By then they realise I'm not leaving so they stop arguing and just grab one out of the garbage or reprint one.

        Looks like the KFC at Noosaville is running low on chicken, they have removed almost all options in the app. If you select the chicken menu or the build your own bucket menu there isn't many chicken options in regards to pieces

    I did something really stupid. I ordered 2x 6.95 for 4 Hot n Spicy and also used the add 2 sides for 5.95. After checking out and paying for it I noticed the cheap as chips deal was only $1 more and I could have gotten 2 extra sides and 6 nuggets for $1 dollar more….

    Okay I ordered the H&S for the 1st time today.
    It taste like a bit different from their regular chicken, not too sure about that
    but it's not hot nor spicy at all
    Like, I didn't sweat at all, unlike when I go to an Indian restaurant.
    did they give me the wrong box, or it's just how it taste?

      Yeah it's not that spicy. I tend to preference it over the original due to the crunchy coating. Even though it's not that spicy, it's still flavoursome, crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside

    Survey Update

    Note to people doing the survey:

    They now ask for the Date/Time/Store Number and the Order Number. This is new this week I think as I haven’t seen this before. But it recognises it’s Australia shows an Aussie Flag and shows very strict must be entered within 3 days for validation and what you get for minimum order of $4.95 and what you get if your order is over $19.95.

    Most of us who do the surveys would be familiar with this and haven’t been super strict with the 3 day response - I bought on the 6/6 doing the Add On Hack and did the survey on the 9/6 so I was still in the 3 day window but they maybe stores will be cracking down on people who just enter any number or take longer than 3 days. That remains to be seen. I also get “NO SET ORDER” on app orders so bit hard to put in an order number.

    I’m guessing they have had some negative feedback lately (lots from me) and want to narrow down the store, date, time and order number so they can track issues like 25 minutes to get through the drive through which happened to me recently. But also what time of day that happened.

    So just letting y’all know who might be cheating the survey system it might be getting harder in the near future. Who knows. Just a heads up.

    Enjoy your KFC especially the excellent Hot and Spicy but it’s not like remember it. Cheers.

            @brandogs: Some stores in Sydney EG Artarmon and Lindfield offer it all year round. I've read before some stores in QLD (Different KFC Owners - Collins group) do as well.
