Great price on this laptop by Intel that's packed with a lot of great features without sacrificing build quality or other areas that a lot of manufacturers do. I personally would argue this is what Apple would make a Windows laptop be.

Features a 15.6" 1080p IPS touchscreen 60Hz display with 460nits brightness, Intel i7-1165G7 (2.8GHz base, 4.7GHz turbo, 4c/8t) CPU, Intel Iris Xe graphics, 16GB LPDDR4X 4266MHz RAM, a fast 512GB NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSD and a 73Wh battery offering over 10.5 hours.

For ports there's 2 Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports on either side with PD fast charging, 2 USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 ports, 1 HDMI 2.0b port and a 3.5mm audio jack. There's also WiFi 6 ax, Bluetooth, front webcam and a glass touchpad.

          Certainly not a dupe since there's no Intel NUC M15 in the title of the other deal. The ASUS certainly has some Pros if you're after gaming.

    Intel NUCs are tiny desktop computers, made possible by using laptop parts.

    An Intel 'NUC' laptop, made using laptop parts… Isn't that just a regular laptop? What's so Next Unit of Computing about this?

      Intel NUC laptops are intended for other brands and manufacturers to buy a 'complete' barebones laptop where they supply their own storage, RAM, branding and so forth. Without having to actually manufacture their own laptop. It's quite similar to Clevo gaming laptops. Brands like Metabox buy these 'complete' barebones gaming laptops, choose their RAM, storage etc. and add branding.

            @Clear: Well I suppose then it did answer the question if we're talking about the question you made up out of thin air that wasn't in the original post.

            I'm also failing to see how Intel can say this is for other manufacturers when they've then gone and thrown their own SSD and RAM into this one and sold it as-is under their own name.

            Seems like this is just a cash grab on an already well-established brand name for the sake of it.

          It answered the first question (why it isn't just a regular laptop) but not the second (what's so NUC about it). Not that Intel is doing anything overly special here in relation to the former.

          Answer to the latter is there's nothing much NUC about it. They're reusing and sadly diluting the brand.

        Ordered one on May 3, tracking number added a whole week later and then nothing. After contacting Bing Lee several times with no-one able to provide an update on the status, I escalated the case to eBay, who processed a full refund. YMMV

      Yep if have bought it if it was! I'm not sure why something that's clearly a business laptop wasn't a smidge smaller. Better portability, and TB4 makes it easy to dock at a desk (so screen size matters less).

          It's about portability more than anything else. A 1080p screen at 14" or 15.6" will display the same content.

      According to Jarrod's tech's review, the TDP of the CPU can reach 40w which is a lot higher compared to the same CPU TDP limit found in other laptops, resulting in better performance

    I was thinking about the Asus TUF because it's a better rig but I need the touch screen for work purposes.

    Otherwise the extra gpu power, full size keyboard would have been great… Sigh. The extra weight would have been unpleasant but lived with it.

    I believe I made the right choice.

      The touch screen won't be great, assuming you're looking to draw things for work. It doesn't support any pen protocols so you can only use a passive pen. It's a bit of a step down from what you would find on a Microsoft Surface or iPad.

        Naw, just using it to scroll up and down and the pinch to zoom. No drawing.

        I'm a clinician. I need it for chart notes and to run a 3D anatomy software.

        So it's perfect for me.

        I actually have the iPad pro as well. Just want to decrease my office bulk but also increase the efficiency of my practice. At this price, it really isn't bad.
