It's a decent deal considering desiccant dehumidifiers are hot cakes in such wet weather, bought one unit for myself. It was the first purchase from mydeal.com.au, therefore, I benefitted from a 10$ voucher, found this in stock using google (15 units left, grab while it lasts).

It's probably not a bargain but I couldn't find any decent dehumidifier, it's sold out everywhere.

  • Don't forget 4% cashback on cashrewards web site $10.36 tracked on my order, which bring the price down to $288.59 including shipping

  • 6L isn't much, better of getting one with at least 10L water capacity.

Better than nothing when entire country is sold out of all models and brands

      • Bit of over exaggeration, but ok.

        • Please link me to an in stock dehumidifier (branded, not mini)

    • I have a sky light that literally rains in winters, I don't think it rains 6L per day 😂

Wet air is heavy, hot air is light, turn this thing on and it'll generate a cycle in the room.

      6L is for 25sqm, which is 5m x 5m box.
The same brand, 10L is recommended for 30sqm, how much is the difference, you do the math.

Good brand and they work well.

Have known one to be working for 6 years with daily use, mine has been going for 2 years.

I use it primarily for clothes drying, but also clearing the bedroom of humidity when the weather is god awful. You know when you hop into bed and it feels cold and wet? Within an hour or so it’s far more comfortable.

Can definitely do more than 6L in a day in cold conditions.

Caveat to desiccant dehumidifiers, they don’t play nicely with high temperatures, and they will heat the room. Advise an air con compressor based dehumidify for use in hot humid conditions.

But these are king in cold damp environments.

  • How do they work?

They're electrical and they use a desiccant material that needs replenishing?

    • +3

They have a wheel with desiccant material which absorbs the water, then rotates slowly and that part is heated to evaporate the water into the tank. The dessicant material does not need replenishing. https://www.sunbeltsales.co.uk/news-2/a-guide-to-compressor-….

      • Thanks, looks like around 450w I think I'll see if I can get by with adequate ventilation.

        • Ventilation means, you'll make the outside temperature same as inside. Condensation happens when outside temp is lower than inside. It helps but you'd kill yourself in the winters when you wake up.

          • @sqheaven: I live in a studio flat that has some design issues.

The top bathroom door hinge has rusted through and light fittings are ready to drop. When I moved in I thought it'd be simple as most tenants seem to be clueless about ventilation but windows are running after a shower even with the window open and extractor fan running.

Overnight condensation's no issue, it's getting the air to turn over after showering.

      • I sent them an DM via ebay, appliances online replied that it means stock is not available that's why you see delivery option is not showing. I only posted this deal because units are available.

        Still a good deal at 279 😂

        Edited typos

        • Oh, thanks for clarifying, I'll delete it to avoid confusion.

  • Only one unit left lol

It was my first deal posted here on Oz B, hope you'd enjoy your winters with this small wonder lol

  • the desiccant type uses more energy than the compression type for same result. This is desiccant.

    • Yet they're more efficient/work more quickly than compressor units.

      • You kill two birds with one stone, they dry the air and heat the environment at the same time. I use fan heater, it heats the air and makes the air absorb more moisture, which increases the humidity levels further.

I don't care about energy, I wipe the windows and floors, waste a lot of my time. I can do something better lol
