15-35% off All Asus Notebooks, Ultrabooks, Tablets Eg 17.3" FHD $1,799 (or Less?) @ Wireless1

120

Hey guys was in the market for a gaming rig and got this mailout last night from Wireless1. For me the standout deal was the 17.3" Gaming Laptop which I was checking out earlier in the week @ DSE for $1,994. These guys are doing it for $1,799 which is the cheapest I can find, but also throwing in a bonus Samsung video camera, which I don't really need but I'm sure my nephews would love for their youtube shenanigans.

Anyway off I went this morning and saw they have the camera on sale separately for $200. Thought I'd be cheeky and asked the rep if I take the camera out of the equation, can I have it for $200 less? While he didn't specify how much off he did say he was happy to discount further. I didn't push it as I'm grabbing it in the middle of the week because going overseas next month and want the invoice dated within 30 days to claim the GST back as well :) so hopefully I should get it for $1,599 - 10% GST = $1,453! Pretty good I reckon for a 17.3" Full HD with 3GB graphics :D

Have done a quick check of staticice, getprice etc and seems like they have the best deals for Asus laptops atm. As per title, they have a sale on all their Asus laptops, netbooks, ultrabooks and tablets, but I have pasted the deals from their linked email for ozbargainer convenience below.

Sale ends 27th May. Pretty decent deals from an independent retailer. Have purchased from them before so can happily recommend.

claim the education rebate through your nephews for further $$$ back (if their parents aren't already doing it)

    • Ooh thanks and good one for bringing it to other ozbargainers attention. I have so many kiddos in the fam but all their parents know of and max out the education tax refund, especially since you can claim it on stuff like net connection etc too I believe. Time to make some of my own me thinks.

Definitely getting the G74 if it's really $1,599 since there isn't much difference between 2nd and 3rd Gen unlike there was a huge improvement from 1st to 2nd Gen.

Can someone upload the receipt if it is $1,599?

They would have a lot of camcorders leftover if you could get the laptop for $200 less without it. Kudos to the OP for trying, I guess we'll know by next week.

Yay I got it for $1,599. The rep I spoke to asked the manager who agreed that to take off $200 if I didn't need the camera, I'm stoked :)

  • about time they start throwing out the older sandy bridge laptops.

  • anyone asked if this deal is for gold or grey colour for the prime?

    3TB Graphics…WOW

Shut up and Take my Money!

    • Hahaha I was just about to comment basically the same thing :P

      • Haha sorry spawn and chux. Fixed it up. It was only in one spot anyway :p

  • 10.1" EEE Pad Transformer Prime $639
    1280x800 LED IPS/1GB RAM/32GB Storage/8MP Camera

    This is the TF201 correct?

  • Does the transformer prime deal include the keyboard dock?

  • To answer questions abt the prime… I went there yesterday and saw that they had only the grey one in stock. TF201 and also with keyboard attached.
It was the cheapest advertised price I've seen. could prob get it cheaper if u haggled?
I didn't bother asking abt the prime cause I'm waiting for the infinity to be released :)

  • It was a good price on Transformer Prime but it now says sold out. :(

    • Yea tried to OW pricematch but it was too late

  • Looks like the 64GB is still available

    • that's when camera is 'converted' into cash and taken out of the equation.
From my search for the balance of performance and portability. I may give up on ivy bridge and go for 100% performance on this bad boy. Still $1799 is pretty nice IMO.

  • We took advantage of this special by purchasing a transformer prime tf201, plus the keyboard. Original price was ~$800, we ended up buying it at ~$630. The order was put through over the weekend, and I was contacted by midday Monday advising me that pick-up was ready. Staff are very friendly. I encourage all other customers to purchase from Wireless1 and take advantage of this deal.

  • Is the G74 there the same as this? http://dicksmith.com.au/product/XC7938/asus-g74sx-fhd-tz130v…
Price is $1396. Apparently it's 30% off in certain stores.
