So, why did you have to give them $5??

    • +16 votes

I assume the cashier had to make a 'cash tendered' entry to complete the transaction - he probably didn't actually hand anything over, they just pressed the $5 button on the til.

      • +5 votes

Don't know why you got negged, cause you're right.

        • +17 votes

Good thing you didn't buy 3 as it would have cost you 5 cents.

        •

A true ozbargainer would have 'bought' 2 for $0.02 rounded down to free.

    • +13 votes

This prevents hobo's from acquiring all the CD's and Frisbeeing them at passer-by's.

      • +7 votes

I'm not a hobo, can I still do this?

  •

Did you not go and clean them out? Stock up for later?

    • +5 votes

Watch out, it could round up to 5c.

      • +1 vote

that's why you buy 2 at a time

  • +1 vote

had to tender some cash so there was a record of the transaction

    LOL

      ???

Looking at the docket you would think it was their clearout store…

  • +7 votes

good guy calvin, always on register 3

    • +8 votes

Agree, Calvin is a top bloke. He needs to get rid of the female tank top and female perfume that he uses. Otherwise good cashier.

Grabbed 7 x packs of these and got it rounded down to 5 cents. Got that warm fuzzy bargain feeling, then sneaked them back into Dickies and left them on the shelf. Take turns now ozbargainers and play nice.

    • +10 votes

Why would you do something like that? That's not a bargain, it's a donation and is absolutely frowned upon by everyone! :)

      • +9 votes

its for paying back the 7 tv's he shoplifted ;)

        • +2 votes

          Thats hilarious!

        •

I drove past a store on friday that said it stock of those 50dvd packs - the entire store had been shoplifted (carpets/walls gone) and someobody painted the outside green. The guy before me must have bought everything lol…

    • +1 vote

Now the system will be stuffed up as there is more stock than the computer thinks. Waste of time…

      • +3 votes

"And I'm not out of order! You're out of order. The whole freaking system is out of order."

      • +1 vote

No, you're right - I never even considered what it might do to The System. Right, I'm heading back in to Dickies right now to undonate them back off the shelf. Got my oversized coat on with the generous inside pockets. If this goes badly, I think I'll be looking at online-only bargains for the foreseeable…wish me luck.

        •

Just flop out your large receipt.. They can't argue with that! :)

      •

It will just say nil stock. If he purchased the last 7 it won't make a difference. It will stuff their margin up for the day if it gets Ozbargained like this.
        What store was it at?

    • +2 votes

What's the Opposite of Broden? booyip!

  • +5 votes

Does anyone even use CDs or DVDs anymore? So 90s.

    • +2 votes

      I do

      Cd for the car
      And DVD for the dvldplayer

      •

        FM broadcaster would be handier…

    •

      DVDs in the. 90s ??
I remember in the late 90s paying $1 per blank CD.

      • +2 votes

Now you're making me feel ancient. My first Kodak blank CD was $20 and there was a burn error after about 14 tracks thanks to the buggy HP burner I had to use !

    •

Um, yes?? CDs are plenty useful for burning MP3s to for use in the car (or if you have a really old school CD player, you can actually burn a music CD - rofl).

    •

      yes

Just bought 9x of the blue-ray banks for $2 each.. Awesome deal..

  •

Purchased one (only one left in bargain bin) of these yesterday at Epping (Vic).
Scanned at $0.01. Sales man asked manager lady. Was rounded up to $0.05 to effect purchase.
    Was happy with that. Bargain!

    • +3 votes

If they had 4 more on the shelf, I would have walked over and got them to make it 5c :D

  • +4 votes

Just got dvd+ 50PK for 2 dollars, still have two packs left in Claremont store of Perth… The CDR 25pk remains 2 dollars and only one left.

  • +1 vote

No good here at Liverpool :(

  • +3 votes

none left at innaloo. they had removed the pricing tickets too.

  •

Tried a few DS today in Brissie - Ipswich. Only one had these & scanned at $2.
Probably only some stores have them at 1c.
Similarly, bought a few $2 Remington hc823bp haircut kits ($30 on Dickies site) but scanned full price at the next store. These are 240V, 24 piece set - even a barber's cape! Not the toy Grooming set, which may be great for beards & mo.

None in Sydney CBD stores - not George street nor barrack street.

    DSE code# Xm1159

Strange no one has pointed out the DS code on the receipt/above is not the one on the web! After buying the $2 hair cutters - I notice their code is also not the DS code. I assume codes beginning with X, Y, etc are a store clearance code!! (DS staff might like to confirm.) Others, like myself, have found the product scans at $2.

    • +1 vote

      X refers to computer stock
XM refers to computer media stock

    •

It turned out the hair cutter set was an older model & different DS code. Queen St Brissie DS said they only sold the last of those $2 ones on Sunday - so other stores may have stock!
      Glad to be corrected!
But not listed online under the DS number shown in the receipt - may be an old stock number, which only appears on DS own system - 'There are no results for "xm1159"'
