  • So what does everyone think of products like this? I just got two new kittens and have been giving them Advocate for the past two months, but they're indoor only cats. And I just feel wary as I know this industry is heavily unregulated and giving my babies products that can kill these parasites like this has me worried about how toxic these products are.

Obviously, you gotta pick your battles but curious to hear people's opinions.

    • Hard to tell. I use this product as our cat goes outside (only in an enclosed catio but can still eat bugs and other creepy crawlies). For an full indoor cat I guess I would not bother. On the other side vet bills can be very expensive and this might be a nice prevention for some common issues. At this price a good deal.

    • +2

I wouldn't buy bulk without trying first. Pet can react negatively to the treatment (wash off if signs of distress) and then you will be left with spares you have to sell or give away. Once you find a product that works for you with no negative effects, then buy bulk when cheap. But then again when buying 1 or 2 treatments, prices are usually through the roof in local stores…

    • my cats are 100% indoor cats. I apply advocates to them every month as the vet suggested.

    • I'm not sure how well it works, but I regularly worm my two cats using Advocate alternating with worm pills every 6 weeks. They have never had any worm issues for 6+ years

  • great price for this products!

  • Under $7 a pop - great deal, thanks!

I’m heading to PetBarn today, I’ll see if they price match.

    • Unlikely. Especially since this is with a code and stacked with auto delivery discounts.

  • While the code and auto delivery discounts still work, looks like the shelf price of Advocate has increased.

    • Yeah they were running a 30% off sale. I'll mark it as expired. Thanks.
