70mai DashCam Pro Plus A500S (2592x1944, 140° FOV) + Rear Camera Combo & GPS $115.56 / $112.68 (Plus) Shipped @ briseekit eBay

This "Xiaomi" (but no longer affiliated with them) by 70mai dashcam is one of the higher end dashcams in their product line. It's similar to the MIDRIVE D08 Dash cam lite in appearance, but it uses a Sony IMX335 sensor instead of the IMX307, which means a sharper image and a much higher resolution of 2592x1944 (over standard 1080p.)

It has a 140° degree FOV while the Midrive D08 is 130°, and it comes equipped with GPS sensor (for ADAS), as well as the usual features like parking surveillance, Wifi / App connectivity to stream footage to your mobile phone and audible voice alerts (it'll tell you if there's an issue with recording or there's new parking footage that needs to be viewed in the gallery)

Going by past deal posts, the 70mai Dashcam (with no rear camera) generally sells for $95 AUD from Aliexpress, this front and rear combo for $112.68 seems like a decent price.

Anyone had issues with the battery dying with Aussie heat?

    • How long is the battery supposed to last?
Mine turns off if theres no power

battery dashcams are useless unless you hardwire them. source: i have two useless xiaomi battery powered dashcams that do not save footage automatically

  • Is the parking feature on this dashcam or any going to help when a door is thrust open into the side of my care at a shopping centre car park?

    • This video explains how it works

I've got it turned on on the Midrive D08 but am thinking of disabling it, since it's unlikely it would capture anything meaningful as it's only looking forwards and I don't have a rear dashcam.

I seem to trigger mine all the time whenever I close the car boot. It's usefulness is somewhat limited in that way as you won't have the mindfulness to check on the parking footage every time because you often assume that it's a false positive as opposed to a shopping cart hitting your car while you were away.
