      What lukebr said.

  • Wait, I wasn't logged in when I was viewing the page.

Edit: cleaned up the link. And no, it wasn't an affiliate link, thankyouverymuch.

  • I'm still getting page not found:

    Just me ?

  • Nope not just you. Same here!

  • Try going in from Small and Medium Business > EOFY Sale.

  • U2412M worth the extra $70 compared to the P2412H?

EDIT: Or even the ST2420L for $172! Pretty cheap monitors here.

    • The U2412M is a 1920 by 1200 panel, vs. 1920 by 1080 on the P2412H. The UltraSharp also has an IPS panel, if that makes any difference.

      • This is for gaming - don't mind resolution either way. And graphics/photography! Would the U2412M suit gaming?

        • Response time is 8ms on the dells less than $300. Take from it what you will.

  • Why doesn't the U2412M have an hdmi port? Been looking for a monitor since selling my Dell 2209wa. Not bad…damn you ozbargain.

    • To save on costs. IPS panels don't come cheap, so to make this monitor attractively priced Dell cut out features IPS monitor users don't deem necessary.

An HDMI to DVI adaptor is only $1.50 delivered off ebay etc.

        • -1

Would the degradation of the signal be noticeable with a HDMI - DVI adaptor from ebay?

        • +2

From what I know when it comes to digital signals, you either get a perfect picture or you get none at all. So your safe i believe.

        • Joysky: from Wikipedia on HDMI http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HDMI#Compatibility_with_DVI

HDMI is backward-compatible with single-link Digital Visual Interface digital video (DVI-D or DVI-I, but not DVI-A). No signal conversion is required when an adapter or asymmetric cable is used, so there is no loss of video quality.[5]

    U3011 tempting me again

  • +1

Any known stackable discount? I've been trying to snipe the u3011.

    • I don't think so. The T&C mentions something to that regard.

    • +4

They are a completely different product.

    • +4

You sir are going to have your neg revoked very soon ;)

  • The U2410 isn't on sale but there is 8 of them in the outlet for $499 ea
    http://www1.ap.dell.com/content/topics/segtopic.aspx/product…
    So about 37.55% off.

  • Hmm… I want to get the 27", should I wait till it go lower like the last 30% off from Dell?

Btw, anyone know if this works with iMac?

    • If you don't need it urgently, I'd wait, they seem to go on sale very frequently by the rate i get emails from dell.

It will work with an IMac but you will need an adapter from Mini displayport to HDMI or whatever. I have this monitor and the 27inch IMac, this screen is AMAZING, i use it as my primary display and my imac as the secondary one, glare of the imac glossy screen annoys the hell out of me, Matte For the win!!

    • +1

I believe iMac's have the Mini Display Port output, so yes. You'll need a Mini DP to DP, or Mini DP to Dual Link DVI adapter though.

      • Ic… hmmm, I might consider buying now…
        It's only $50 different…

  • Thank you for sharing, am in need of a new monitor, coincidentally it decided to stop working today.

I bought my U2412M for the exact same price in July last year. Would be nice if Dell knocked the price down a bit more during the sales (it's tempting to get another one). The U2412M is a superb monitor for the money - you won't regret getting one.

      Or 3 :P

      • +2

        Or 6! ;)

I got Dell to give me this price on the U3011 the other month just by jumping on their online Chat.

    • Same.

      • how did you get them to give you the u3011 for that price?

        • Seriously, just ask! 'What's the best price you would do for the U3011?'

And the figure you see above is what he typed. I said I wouldn't budge for any more than $1100. (He told me to shove it,… in nicer words :P)

  • Howdy all- I bought a u2412 last time they went on sale, and have it hooked up to a 2-3 year old Toshiba laptop with a 512 dedicated graphics card. I am using HDMI cable to DVI adapter, and when I get a picture, it is perfect, which is most of the time. However, after a couple of hours of use, the screen totally blanks out for a few seconds, then comes back on. It does this more and more frequently, the longer the I am using the computer. VGA cable works without blanking out at all, but I do get a constant twitching/feint rippling of the screen using VGA.

Do you think I got a dodgy monitor, or is my Laptop playing up? I am using VGA all the time now, cos the blanking out was so irritating, as u can imagine! I have tried 3 different HDMI cables, granted, all them were cheap ones off ebay, but same result.
Screen does not blank out when I hook laptop up to onkyo receiver via HDMI to watch a movie off it on the Plasma.

I guess it must be the monitor? Anyone else have this issue?

I also tried using the displayport with a HDMI to Displayport adapter but I get zero picture, monitor just goes to sleep.

Sorry if I'm off topic. Just that heaps of ozbargainers seem to have the u2412. Thanks guys.

    • Try connecting your laptop directly to the Plasma TV via HDMI (ie. use TV as an external monitor to see if it blanks).
Try updating the video card driver in your laptop. If after this, the U2412M still blanks, then ring Dell for warranty support.

      • Thanks so much for the tips. Bought a new 13.3" toshiba i5 laptop, plugged in the monitor, and same result, it still blanks out every couple of minutes for about three seconds then comes back on.
So rang Dell, as u suggested, and they were great. I also let them know that every time I check the 'screen resolution' thru windows, it shows up as 59hz, whereas it should be 60hz, correct?
The Dell guys said that this is a sign that the monitor is failing, and that I don't get a signal using the HDMI / Displayport adapter is probably a sign as well that the monitor is cactus. So they sending out a replacement, should receive Monday.
Does anyone else use the Displayport port? Or is everyone just using HDMI adapters? Is there any advantage with displayport? Or disadvantage?
        Thanks again for ur help!

  • the u3011 has a zero dead pixel warranty right?
so if 2 years down the track. there is a dead/stuck pixel. i can get it swapped?

  • Purchased 2x P2412H for $404.00.

My craving for triple monitor setup will soon be satisfied.

    Thanks OP :-)

  • Thanks muchly OP, would only let me buy 1x U2412M so eagerly awaiting the next one!

    • I bought only one myself (new video cards cost a lot!) but I'm pretty sure the limit per customer was two.

  • How does the U2412M compare to the U2412? I've only used the U2412 model, which I was very impressed with.
