  • This or the USB C monitor?

    • +2

Either. end of the day its gonna do the same job, its just a matter of input choice. Your productivity isn't gonna increase if you're using a usb c monitor or using a DP to usb C cable to connect.

Is there a monitor that's a bit better, for a small price increase? I'd be willing to pay a bit more for better picture. I've read that the HDR performance isn't very good.

    • +2

Cheap HDR monitors on PCs for gaming or even youtube\movies etc… are often more trouble than it's worth… at least that is what i've found. It's better than it used to be at least with WIndows 11 updates

  • I remember there is a version of this that come with USBC

    • +3

Yes the Dell S3423DWC which can be had for $569 via the Dell eBay sale.

It only has a 100hz screen but that was worth it to have USB-C connectivity and the inbuilt KVM to switch between work and personal.

      • Ah right that's the one. I thought it wouldve had same refresh rate like this. Guess I was wrong, but it would be nice to have USBC for sure.

      • Is there any other disadvantage to the usbC one? Like image quality and all that is the same right?

Anyone know if Mac Mini M1 supports dual monitor?

    • Not two 4Ks

      • Is there a workaround to this?

        • 1, external graphic card. 2, use m1 pro models instead. 3, downgrade resolution to less than dual 4K. You may try dual 4K but apple doesn’t promise you get 60hz

        • “ the M1 Mac Mini does natively support up to two external monitors—one via the HDMI port and a second via USB-C.”

  • +1

I'm glad they stated in the specs that it supports gaming!

  • I’m not a fan of VA panels, to be honest.

    • Yeah I had read in the past that IPS is better, which is why I have an IPS monitor now. but I never really read much into it.

      • Most people dislike VA because the response-time (ghosting) in darker shades is magnitudes worse, creates a "smearing" effect.
