not so no brainer with kogan

is it grey stock ? warranty by kogan or dyson ?

    • yeh. What does "international model" mean? anyone know if it comes with a proper Australian 3 pin power supply or an adapter plug?

    • When you click warranty, it states "This product also comes with a manufacturer warranty;

      1 Year Dyson Warranty (Included)"

      Local Dyson is 2 years

      • Guess you'd hope to deal with Dyson directly once the machine registered, and try to forget about Kogan

        • Definitely. I bought a second hand V11 and found out the floor head wheels is broken and the battery is not always charged when plug in and they send me both replacement under warranty. There were a time I bought a couple of Xiaomi vac and they are excellent for value and before the battery dies, they work pretty good but once the battery died, it is hard to get replacement or it will cost like a genuine dyson battery price and they both died within a year but ebay sellers don't reply messages and ebay can't do anything if it is over 30 days.

Australian stock Dyson stick vacs have a 2 year warranty.

    7 minutes lol

    • High\Turbo is super strong, but yes 7mins (new), this reduces with use isn't much at all if you have carpets.
Normal lasts for ages (20+ minutes), but is nowhere near as powerful as a v6 (despite lower suction, does manage to pickup a lot more).
Too much gap between Normal and High\Turbo, I find normal isn't enough for carpets.

I know it might actually never going to come, but I will wait for $450 on V8 Abs

  • Rather the samsung jetstick deal than this. This old dust bin design is a pain to empty.

    • Yep the Samsung is same price at Costco

  • +3

Don't do it, terrible battery life and a pain to pull apart to clean.

  • +2

    Agree, no Kogan..
The animal has the older motorheads, no shortage of deals from eBay or Dyson direct, id recommend the v8 2022 exclusive edition, faster postage and better warranty/support (Up to 2 years parts and labour guarantee).

    • For sure

    • +1

Bought this one a few weeks ago, very happy with it.

    • also recommend getting from dyson.com.au, bonus flexible bit (worth $29).
would be hard cleaning the car without it.

  • Haven’t looked back after switching to dreame :)

    • I was looking at xiaomi before too. But what do you do once the battery carks it. It's almost impossible to find replacements.

      • $50-100 for a new snap-in battery - eBay, Amazon and AliExpress all have 'em.

        • More like 150-200$ for newer equivalent model batteries

    • Hit or miss with their products, when they work bloody good. If you get a dud which is common, returns\support is non-existent.

      • +1

Yeah as much as I hate to be like that they’ve priced dreame models to be actually cheaper to buy new than to replace parts.. like with a lot of products these days by the time battery or motor or something else karks it much newer generation is out at such a competitive price. I also hate the way economy is geared up for churn churn churn!

    • I did the same, Dreame T20… then I had to switch back.

      • so , t20 / t30 sux

        what about v12 ?

        • +1

          I don't have Dreame T20/T30 or Dyson V8, but i have Dyson V10 (used 2 years) and Dreame V12 (used 6-7 months)

          Dreame V12 -
          Stronger suction
          multihead - convenience
flexible tube - very handy for some task
Auto lockon mode - very good features (especially with flexible tube).
battery - last slighly longer (may be Dyson battery degrade over 2 years)

          Dyson V10-
          May be slighly bigger bin
There isn't any other advantages i can think of, may be except customer service (which i have never used, same for Dreame)

My Dyson V10 is perfectly fine (except the dust bin need to push quite hard to open), i bought Dreame V12 for my parents. But they want me keep the new one, so i gave them Dyson V10.

  • Looking to move away from the Dyson V7.
Battery life (even with a brand new battery) is atrocious and the head clogs really easily.
    Anyone have some suggestions?

So far the best one I’ve found in the budget range looks like the Bosch Athlet. Any opinions?

    • +1

I had the Bosch and it was really good. It’s a shame you can’t easily change batteries.

      • Ideally shouldn’t need to change batteries much though? Especially when it has a decent runtime from factory?

        • +1

I had it for about 3 years.
I should have kept the receipt and took it back just before warranty end.
It was a great vacuum but $400 every 3 years isn’t for me.

        • all batteries deteriorates and dies eventually

      • +1

Same, I had the Bosch Athlet which was great for a while, easy to grab for a quick going over the place. No attachments limits it so still need a proper vac.

Eventually got that issue where the connector (circuit) in the handle fails so get intermittent Power cuts. The YouTube fixes didn't really work so far but gave it away for someone else to tinker with.

        • Have you got a better suggestion?

          • @Rail Rider95: Yes, see above
(Got a dyson v8 exclusive edition, and ordered one for my parents too).

            • @G-rig: I’m seriously considering the V8.
              Can you buy replacement batteries?
What’s it like on hard floors?
Do I have to buy the fluffy head to actually get a good vacuum?

              • @HereToSave: Yes, seems fine, don't Think you need the fluffy head unless very delicate floors.

                • @G-rig: Thanks mate. I’ll get the JB Hifi one today with the Woolies and Coles cards combined.

                  • @HereToSave: Just make sure it's the 2022 one, don't know if you get the bonus bits as per exclusive bundle (eBay/Dyson incl extension hose), probably has most stuff though.

                    • @G-rig: Yeah it’s the 2022 and no bonus bits. To be fair I don’t think I’ll ever use the bonus bits.
                      Thanks for the tips.

    • This deal has the new 2022 head, it’s a lot better than the old heads. In terms of blockage and hair.
