Picked one up, pretty sure I dont need it and have other BT adaptors floating around in my USB drawer so at least it wont be lonely when it disappears in there. Then again I quite like most of the Baesus gear I have picked up so I might even use it (sure sure keep telling yourself that buddy).

Your old dongles might not have BLE, which is needed for new keyboard/mice/etc.

I bought one of these very recently, and it just arrived this week.
I had quite a bit of trouble getting it to work on my Windows 10 system - it was showing up as a "headset dongle" and I had no Bluetooth receiver recognised.

In the end I needed to locate the "headset dongle" in Device Manager, then force uninstall the driver, then reboot - and this time Windows apparently found a different driver to use, which worked. It's pretty confusing - I don't know if other people will have the same issue. My Windows install is relatively clean, so I don't know where the previous driver could have come from.

    • Thanks for the info. Was planning to use on work computer with security restrictions. Sounds like I'd skip the usb Bluetooth, would u know if the aux Bluetooth is just plug and play? And require no installation?

I have one of the car bluetooth audio adapters, and it works great. Very easy way to add good quality bluetooth audio to an older car with an AUX-in port.

Adaptor has BR8651 chipset, can't find if supported on linux

    • Doesn't look like it.

      • WHAT'S HE TALKING ABOUT?!?

    • What is that chipset? I can't find any info about it and it's either I didn't search hard enough or there is no info on the net.

    • Just following up on my comment. WHAT IS THAT CHIPSET!!?!?

  • Any sound lagging? I've got bt 4.0 and it's really useless with the sound delay

    • Could be from headset/headphones/earphones and not bluetooth dongle

  • Where is the BT "Transmitter"? I want to connect it to an analogue radio audio jack output.

    • They do exist - check ebay. Often they come as a small device which has a switch on it, for sender or receiver.

    • Feature 4: Wireless Transmitter

So does this Baseus dongle work as a Bluetooth Transmitter?

    • +1

The title is misleading. There is no audio i/o, it is just a basic BT dongle.

  • Hi, does this work for ps5?
Could I connect a Bluetooth speaker to this audio receiver that is plugged into my ps5?
    Cheers

Website is killing me, straight out of the 90s

  • Rant time: what's not clear is whether this (and others like it) present as a bluetooth device to the computer, or present as an audio device (i.e. do you pair to the computer or to the dongle?). Pairing to the dongle would be so useful then quickly just plug your headset (or keyboard and mouse) into different computers. Yes you can find the BT transmitters, but they don't seem to be able to audio both ways (ears and mic).

Ignore the "audio blah blah blah". This is a BT 5.0 (or 5.1 depending on who you ask) USB adapter.

      Spec's: https://www.baseus-cn.com/baseus-ba04-wireless-adapter-usb-b…

    • If you're looking for one that does do audio like you've described, I have one here (Avantree BTDG-80), I can test the bind then swap machines thing for you if that's your use case.
The one I have though definitely switches to mono if you enable the mic on the bluetooth device. Which is why I don't use it much, I got it to do wireless audio with a btr5, but the moment I want to be in channel on discord etc. the dongle switches to mono and is therefore useless for gaming…

  • How can I check if my current one is bluetooth 4.0 or 5.0?

  • Good price, but you can get a WiFi/BT dongle that uses the same slot for not too much, comes in handy having both.

don't need it but got one thank you for that

  • Already got a ORICO USB Bluetooth 5.0 Adapter. Would this have any advantages?

    • No.

  • Wewbsite link broken just sits there and won't load again. Loaded the first time I clicked but when I clicked add to cart it just froze and would not load.

    • Worked fine for me just now. Successfully made purchase.

Thanks @OP, I needed one of these for my second PC <3

      • Yeah, I also managed just a little while ago to make order, but took at least 10 minutes before the website started working again.

    Does this require batteries?

    • Hi RSmith, this doesn't need battery.

      • Thanks. Is it powered by USB in that case?

        • Yes

This device is terrible. Doesn't work with the native Windows bluetooth app, you need the 3rd party app to get things to connect. Avoid it if you can!

      AGREE

  • What's everyone's experience with this shitty adapter? Even my generic one works perfectly
