  • And here I thought Kyoto was the cultural center of Japan…
+1 just cause Jetstar and Japan are both awesome.

I guess that depends on what kind of culture you are into.

      • drugs, hookers, fireworks?

        • +2

Don't need to go to Japan for that. Canberra has you sorted!

  • this looks like an awesome deal to me. One way flight and 700 bucks return but you still save $$$

    • $700 return is no deal for Tokyo. Last time I went (from the Gold Coast) it was $420 return.

      • Even better! trip to Adelaide > Melbourne approx $100
        Melbourne > Tokyo $299
        Tokyo > Melbourne roughly $420
trip from Melbourne to Adelaide = $100

        Approx 920

Decent price for Tokyo I reckon, too bad though I won't be choosing a flight just yet until I learn some chinese and visit hong kong and guangzhou on the way too for a grand adventure

How much did you spend on accommodation though? I hear that's the money killer.

  • Why isn't there one for Brisbane or Gold Coast…….:(

    • Just be patient. It'll come soon…
      I hope.

      • As sure as June follows May, there will be another Jetstar sale to Japan.

  • Sorry, I'm new here and a bit confused. Do I HAVE to travel in the dates specified, or just purchase tickets in those dates?

Would you believe only this morning I forked out $600+ on a trip to Japan (from Sydney) flying JetStar. Just my luck! (I'm leaving in late October).

I'm always a little confused about one way ticket sales. Are they asking me to p*ss off out of my country?
I'd like to return as well. I think I do anyway.

    • +1

noob there is sale tickets for return too

  • Anyone know a good travel insurance company?

    • Travel Insurance Direct. Always i find to be the cheapest. Ive never had to claim anything though.

      • I used to always use them. Would never use them again
It's been 3 months since I've come back from my trip and had to make a claim and i'm still sorting through the paper work!
Had to fill in a load of paperwork wait a few weeks and then they requested some receipts which i photocopied and sent over + police report number
then after a few weeks they asked me to send the ORIGINAL receipt and a physical police report (which costs $75 to produce btw)
        So before I've had any notion of getting my claim sorted I've paid;
        $100 for travel insurance
        $75 for police report
If my claim is approved another $100 deductible
        Hours of my time

it's quickly becoming not worth it
