Hmm to get this or to wait for 6E?

      10 is coming

  • At what NBN speed tier is it worth upgrading to wifi 6?

    • +3

Depends on if the device that uses the WIFI is WIFI 6 ready!

    • Gigabit if your phone, laptop and so on have Wi-Fi 6.

    • thing looks like it literally is going to take off

I got the RAX80 (the model up from the one posted)a couple of years ago and i love the thing.

I can highly endorse these routers, The entire life i have had it it's worked perfectly with minimal issues. In it's entire 2 years of me having it i have only needed to restart it for playing up once. I have had to restart other times but they have been for other reasons (NBN issues, software updates, etc).

I utilize wifi6 all the time on this for streaming or downloading between computers and it works really well. I even sampled 1000/40 internet for a month and tested it out thoroughly, worked really well with that. i'm now back down to 100/40 speeds, and i'm still very happy with the router. I'm running about 30 devices ongoing (combination of hard wired and wifi) and it works flawlessly.

    1 thing i love
THE RANGE! i was tossing up between a mesh system or multiple accesspoints (i'm on a 650 square meter property, long lot of land, not square). I have this router about 1/3 of the way up the property and i manage to get wifi to the entire property with just the 1 router.

    1 thing i hate
My only thing i don't like about the router is it doesn't have any 2.5 or 10 GbE ports….however i don't need that right now, it's certainly something i'll be looking out for in my next router for future proofing.

Can vouch for the range. When I drive into my street my car picks it up about 70 meters away and I'm in double brick.

Had no issues. Been a bunch of firmware updates so assume they have ironed out the kinks.

Have heaps of devices linked. At least 30 on WiFi alone.

double brick as well for me :-)

    • This one qccept 5g simcards?

      • Not that I have seen

      • unfortunately not, mine doesn't take sim cards

  • Is Netgear collaborating. CRUISE By Netgear (Top Gun Special Edition)

  • Yay back to routers that look like futuristic drones and not nightmare spider things

  • This looks like a fictional space ship. I guess that's what the Netgear design engineers were aiming for. I really think that one of the head design engineers must be a massive Star Wars fan.

  • In the looks department we have gone from spiders to stingrays, cool.

  • Darth Vader included?

  • this or ASUS RT-AX86S ?

  • Anyone tried price matching at JB?

    • Tried to and price on their kiosk showed $478 on HN site, my phone showed $312 even refreshed. Went to HN and ticket showed $312, purchased and checked receipt $478, returned for refund of $166. HN site now $478 and amazon unavailable. HN floor sitckers still should get you the price as it did for me!

      • damn what HN was this. My local in Bris said its 478 still
