Don't neg purely for COTD but it looks like a good price, didn't find one cheaper using google shopping.

Might be good if anyone was looking for one of these, but i think v2 has come out.

    doesnt this just work on wifi? so its a bit difficult to use outdoors?

      Maybe able to use a WiFi amplifier, but not too sure how the AR Drones are hooked up. WiFi amplifier can extend the range a lot, especially with a high gain antenna and WiFi N, and its also open space, so shouldn't be too much an issue.

      By default the AR Drones have better range than the IR mini things that are common, these will not work well at all outdoors due to being IR.

        The Parrot AR.Drone generates its own Wi-Fi network so you simply need to connect an iPhone or iPod touch or iPad or Smartphone with Android

          I have one, it has its own private signal. I get an easy 20 metre range outside. I use my iphone or Xoom for control and they work fine, however it has flown out of range (it should shut down) mine flew directly into the pool, cost me $200 in parts to repair.
          Great fun and great deal.
          New version comes out in June

    Do keep in mind the arDrone 2.0 will be out in a couple of weeks. However it will be prices at $350 RRP. in saying that the original AR drone is a good little device. but the 2.0 has some good additions.

    HD Camera 720p 30fps vs 640x480
    1Ghz 32 but ARM Cortex A8 CPU vs ARM9 468 MHz
    1gb ram vs 128 Megabytes of RAM
    3 Axis Gyroscope 2000 degree/second vs 2-axis gyro and a single-axis yaw precision gyrometer
    3 Axis Accellerometer +/- 50mg precesion and 3 Axis Magnetometer 6 degree precision vs 3-axis accelerometer

    Support to record to USB
    now supports wifi N
    Pressure Sensor +/- 10Pa precesion

    What does all that mean? the 2.0 will have much better control and stability.

      why will they ban them? if they do that,then they will also have to ban all rc flying devices. you can put a cam on any flying device. Im not saying they wont try to knowing our governments but it wont work
