  • Anyone have experience with this used with Amazon and Netflix?

    • Excludes Netflix US

    • And Amazon accounts aren't global.
      So there's no benefit possible

    • I assume by Amazon you mean Prime Video. Used it for Amazon UK to watch Wimbledon last year with a free Prime trial. Watching it this year using BBC iPlayer which Getflix also geo-unlocks.

      • Amazon Prime accounts are not global.. so in terms of Prime Video, there is no benefit to using a VPN to access content from another region.

        • If you go to Amazon UK prime you'll see this message:

Travelling or based outside United Kingdom? Video availability outside of United Kingdom varies. Sign in to see videos available to you.

So in the case of watching Wimbledon last year on Prime UK, I needed to set the region to UK.

  • if only this worked for netflix.. junk

    • +3

I have access to US Netflix and don't even know what I am supposed to watch on there.

      • +1

This site seems to provide a reasonable search option https://unogs.com/. Hope that helps in your case.
Like other comments I gave up on my Getflix lifetime sub ages ago, so just use what is available in Australia for whichever service I am on at the time.

        • +2

I use "Hide my email" on Apple to generate random email addresses and start a 14 days trial on Trickbyte or Getflix (No payment method needed) to get access to Netflix US

    • I just use mine for "free" VPN these days

  • +1

I found it pretty useless for anything I wanted, and the VPN was painfully slow. I purchased the 2 year subscription and subsequently never used it.

    • +1

I have set it up on my Apple TV and have apps from a few different countries and they work flawless at 4K

      • I wasn't using VPN for accessing streaming services, I had DNS configured for that. It was for when I needed a real VPN, it was just too slow

        • Yeah I wouldn't use it for VPN

          • @Pricebeat: I use it for VPN, I find it works well enough (usually 2-3 megabytes / sec, sometimes even maxing out my FTTN at around 7 megabytes / sec)…

            • @MrGareth: Must be one of the luxuries if a non-shit NBN connection.
              3mbps is maxxing out mine

  • I've never gotten it working with US paramount plus

    • Did you read this comment?

    • Can confirm, works with the NZ server. 🤷‍♂️ No difference in performance by using the NZ server as far as I can tell.

  • Got their trial connection and tested on Amazon Prime. Was not able to go up to UHD when using Getflix.

    • Do you have to subscribe to Amazon Prime US?

      • Yes

    • Which server are you using for prime ? I’ve tried couple of US servers, it shows US content but says you’re connected to VPN !

  • +1

I've had this for years and it's been worth it even if just for BBC iPlayer and their torrent-friendly SOCKS proxy servers.

    • How does it work for the BBC stuff, you don't need a their TV licence?

      • +3

They just ask, do you have it? You can say yes and continue watching

  • +2

a long time ago it worked for me - but i gave up when it failed again and again in like 2019ish….

says im subscribed till 2100 though….

    • Hi, if you have the lifetime sub still working and you not using it, is it possible I could buy it of you with a discount?

  • +3

I bought this years ago when they just said it didn't come with support, but they didn't say it didn't support Netflix. So I just wasted my money. Screw them.

I bought a lifetime deal through StackSocial in 2015 that gave access to US Netfix and all of Getflix’s other offerings at that time. It worked well for a few months until Netflix outsmarted them. The service became very patchy. Eventually, after many months, they were able to provide ongoing access to US Netflix again…….. But only to clients paying full price for a regular subscription! My lifetime subscription was not included. Once bitten twice shy.

    • +2

Exactly the same experience. I felt ripped off when that effectively downgraded the service of lifetime subscribers after the fact.

  • Getflix get's the flix from me….LOL!!!……. Get Flixed with Getflix….LOL!!!
    Sorry…couldn't resist!!

  • Long since given up using Getflix for Netflix, but I have it working for Hulu with the $1/$2 a month plans they do each year on Black Friday. Works well for that.

    • +1

I do the same thing… I got the lifetime plan back in 2015, and when US Netflix stopped working I started using the DNS for Hulu (same plan as yours) and Pluto TV and it works fine! I also use the full VPN if I ever need to sail the high seas and I find it's fast enough for me

  • +1

This was the only one that would work with Netflix US on my TV and laptop.

  • 30 Years Subscription ????
what if this company is bankrupt ?

    • +1

You can line up with the other creditors.

  • I downloaded trial version and couldn't figure out how to use this for Hotstar. Can anyone please help?

    • Change DNS on your device to manual with one of the DNS from Getflix

Then go into regions and select India as the region for the group of apps that has Hotstar in it.

Then reactivate IP from Getflix dashboard

    • I have been using the VPN for Hotstar. Works well

      • Would this work even after the new laws, which is making these companies stop their support for Indian IPs ?

        • Not sure. Getflix's VPN connects to Bangalore

        • Just change the DNS - I’m getting 4K Hotstar - both Nord and keepsolid don’t have an Indian server

          • @Maxdax: Mate, just curious how were you able to sub Hotstar?

            • @BargainHuntahh: You need a Indian mobile number to subscribe to hotstar. I don’t think you can use the websites which offer otp either because sometimes it logs out and the only way to log back in is otp to the same mobile.

              • @jagimc: Ahh righto! Acquiring an Indian Number for OTP is where I was stuck at in the first place haha 😄

  • I've had experience with Stack Social, I bought a lifetime cloud service from them, it lasted just under 2 years before they sent me an email saying they were closing their Australian storage servers and that I would not be getting a refund but I could get a 1 year 90% discount off their U.S business plan which was in the hundreds of dollars.
    It felt like a scam!!

  • Nearly faultless for many years for UK services, I recommend it.

  • +2

Got ripped off with their "lifetime" sub deal many years ago where they removed netflix access from lifetime subs and was only available to monthly/yearly paying subscriptions.

    • +2

Me too. Never trust lifetime deals, esp those advertised on Stack Social… BUT, that said, I have used Getflix for years for US streaming (Hulu, Amazon, HBO Now, a few others) and it has been pretty reliable. So if you don't care about Netflix and accept the risk of being treated as a second class subscriber at some point in the future, this may be an ok deal.

Give ControlD a go. Owned by Winscribe. Very flexible:

  • Getflix were great maybe 7-8 years ago before Netflix USA got wise to DNS spoofing.

  • Which device people are using to watch BBC I player with this ?
