Thanks, just cancelled my Yamaha 1090 order from Amazon and ordered the 2090 from JB instead.

  • YSB2700 doesn't have Dolby Atmos?

I have the ysb2700. Have had it for a few years now. Think I paid about $900 for it.

    Very happy with it's performance.

I can second the YSP-2700's performance.

Easily filled my modestly sized living area to satisfying volumes (appx 4m x 6m) with plenty left on the dial.

Note that the subwoofer does have a high crossover so may need to take a little extra care with volume and placement (sub is wireless).

  • Solid performer. At this price point, nothing beats this sound bar.

    • I disagree as i got the Samsung q900a for $580.
However you would have to wait for another sale. In saying that. At this point in time. It's hard to beat this value

No doubt Q900A can beat YSB 2700. But how could you get it for $580? I searched and the lowest price was $795 here

It's a bit more of a stretch, and for those with access, but TGGC has the Samsung Q800B which does Atmos for $706 (free C&C or + delivery)

Have this one as well it's a really good sound bar, but keep in mind you'll probably want woofer to be out front (i.e not hidden) as it carries a lot of the mid range and not just bass. Excellent price, given how everything else seems to go skyward.

    Surprised this doesnt do atmos

but for the price cant complain

    • -1

It's about 3 or 4 years old now, was Atmos even a big thing back then?

      • Atmos came around in 2012
        My 2015 receiver has it

        • Receivers sure but in soundbars?

  • This one or Samsung 3.1.2Ch Dolby Atmos Soundbar Q600B/XY?
    $550 in TGGC

    • $535 at Appliance Central even, with free delivery to what seems to be quite a few places https://www.appliancecentral.com.au/hw-q600bxy-samsung-q-ser…

And then TGG (normal) should price match them, for peace of mind and those who have access to discount giftcards.

      • Actually you can get Q700B for $568 there, $1 cheaper than YSP-2700.

        So this or Q700B?

  • Does anyone have any experience with Polk Soundbars?

    • I too am looking at these, dont know anything about them tho, sorry…

I am looking for a reasonably priced soundbar upgrade for my YAS-209/ATS-2090 that supports a bit of surround. Thought the YSP-2700 could be a good candidate, but after reading some reviews doesn’t look like it. I’m bit of a basshead, therefore sub performance is something I pay lot of attention to. The main negative of most reviews for this soundbar is the under powered sub, it has a smaller subwoofer and a smaller box than the YAS209, also found a forum post where someone said YAS209 sub is noticeably punchier than this, so I guess this is not for me. But most reviews do say the surround effect is very good for a sound bar with no seperate surround sound speakers. So I guess this is a bit of a hit and a miss.
Just thought I’d post my findings here if anyone else is thinking of upgrading their old YAS209
