I ended up with this swivel option after feedback on the posted version was that the sliding mech could fail, similar price, i went with 256gb.

    • This one looks pretty good, tempted to upgrade to 256gb

Apparently even the swivel mechanism gets loose but I guess at that stage it’s still better than the slide mechanism failing

      I have both.

The swivel gets a little loose overtime but that's expected.
My only problem with the metal one is it gets extremely hot doing nothing, and could easily snap your USB-A/C port if you're not careful.

What's not expected is this slide version failing very early in life.
When it fails, it makes it difficult to insert into USB-A and almost impossible to insert into fresh USB-C ports (as you have to push the sliding thing as you insert).

Definitely avoid this sliding one as it's more trouble then it's worth in the long run.

agreed, bought the sliding one, didnt take long for me to have to fiddle for it to work

    • Got this, its good

About the size of a key
      Heats up during transfer
Still going strong after a year on my keychain (i.e daily wear and tear)

    • The first few reviews say heating is a big problem

I have a few of these but hate the sliding mechanism. It doesn't really lock securely in place so you need to hold it down while you are pushing in into the usb port. Probably wouldn't buy it again.

I got it last year for $20. It's quite useful, but very slow.

  • I have one of these that I'd bought in 2018 and i think that it's usb 3.1? It's good and has lasted me a while, although i'd paid $30 for 16 gbs LOL

I have this and I broke the case to fit a custom 3d printed shell which is more compact. Considering that, the unit is quite decent. But the sliding mechanism is a terrible oversight on SanDisk's part.

    • Do you happen to have a .stl file or similar of the case?

Was bored and did same thing:

I had to cut a part of the slide thing to get it out, otherwise it would've been too much effort.
The thing is metal so you could probably use it as is, although the usb-c end could do with a bit of bracing.

I used the stub left of the sliding mechanism to lock it into new shell.
Can definitely slim it down a heap more if you cut off the sliding mechanism.

We just price matched the black swivel one (Ultra Dual Drive Go) @ jb + used the perk voucher to make it down to $16.94

I got mine down to $16! Price match cplonline in Melbourne

    • That one isn't really double ended.
      It's more of a usbc drive with a c to a adapter.

It has it's own problems, ie. the adapter loosens over time and just stays stuck in ports etc.
Also you can lose the adapter.

That said, from memory, it's faster then the sandisk duals
