even more expansive than my toothbrush

Maybe for people who have gaps between their teeth?

New OralB ecosystem. They probably created a 'new' head (incompatible with the old heads) to make more sales. Kind of like Apple iPhones - new iPhones are always different proportions = a whole new line of accessories needed.

I didn't know why you were negged. Here is a +ve for you. Completely agree with the reason and the price is ridiculous, when considering you can get the normal head for $3 from Amazon. Even with the discount this is ~4x the price of the normal head.

      • Each head would want to last for 6-12 months for this price.

        • I change it every 5 months.

I have the IO9 and I’m really happy with it. Thanks OP. Bought a set. We always have the same arguments here on OZBARGAIN. Well, why does a Ferrari cost so much more than a Fiat Punto…. Same question. Just accept that some people just don’t go for the cheapest products. Cheap doesn’t always mean it’s good. Sure a cheap toothbrush does also the job, just not maybe as good. I bought some months ago these Puma mox running shoes for unbelievable $10 plus delivery, and I’m still happy about this bargain, but if if comes to performance, these are not good for running especially compared with products like On Cloudflow or Salomon running shoes. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/642929 For the last mentioned products you spend min. $130 on sale. - Ok let’s get back to the facts. This product here for this price is the cheapest I have seen. People who have the IO series toothbrushes will value it!

tl;dr: you get what you pay for.

ts;wm: OzBargain's main appeal to me is not "look at this ultra cheap garbage omg such bargain many saving wow", but "here's a high quality product at a great price".

    • How much better than the midrange electric toothbrushes is it? Would you say it's life-changing?

      • Well for me personally it was a huge difference. I went from the usual Oral B electric toothbrush for $30 to the IO9 series for $329. Sure you can argue if it’s really nearly 10 times better than the $30 toothbrush, but I don’t regret it and I’m happy with it.

        • So you haven't tried the previous flagship?
          Oral-B 8000/9000?

Wondering whether it justifies the price difference..
          Oral-B 8000/9000s go for $100~$130 a handle on special (there's a $230 for dual handle 8000 now)

  • It is now $32.98

  • Now for $21.60 s&s
