Don’t forget to show your survey screenshot for free chips & drink

    • +2

Screenshot? I thought you need to give them a physical receipt

      • You are correct.

        • +2

Nope, screenshot of completed survey is fine (at my local at least, YMMV) @dajackal

          • @MiscOzB: thanks! will give it a go. that means you can keep reusing the same screenshot?

            • +4

@dajackal: Yep, I've been using the same screenie for a long time now. I just remembered that they did actually tell me on one of my previous visits that I needed a physical receipt, but they still gave the chips and drink anyway and I took a physical receipt, did the survey and now leaving the receipt in my car in case it happens again.

              • +1

@MiscOzB: How do you use this when ordering in app? This seems to be an app only promo?

              • @MiscOzB: I was a passenger going through the drivethrough and told them I had a screenshot of the code. Before I could even show them my tiny phone screen from 2m away they were like 'yep, what drink would you like'. Wasn't going even bother doing any of this 10 min ago, so glad I read this thread haha, I usually have the number written on the receipt for them all nicely

                • @BigRiggs24: lmao bro like three times now ive gone and just said i dropped the receipt but i remmeber the code (spit out 5 random numbers) and it still works lmao, but yeah before like when i first found out i used to do the surveys but like a few months after i always and have been for yrs now just write a few random numbers and still works, 99% of the time it works theres always that one store which wont let u

      • You can also grab the receipt off the printer once you press the button "im in the restaurant" as it will start printing the moment you do. receipt will have your initials on it instead of order number.

    • what survey? where do i complete it? can I redeem unlimited times for same survey?

my kids will e eating kfc 2-3 times a day.

The way it's supposed to work is you get a paper receipt with an order, then fill out an online survey later using the info on the receipt like store number, date, time. The survey then gives you a 6 digit code which you write on the receipt. Keep it in your wallet until next order, and either hand it over at the counter after ordering saying something like: "I also have a survey code for the free chips and drink", or say the same after you've finished ordering at the drive thru speaker. Be sure to ask for a new receipt if they don't give you one, do the survey again ready for next time.

The other ways people describe won't work at every KFC or even with every employee at the same branch because some staff have no clue how it works, others have only half an idea and make up their own rules for the rest which they also teach to other staff, and others again know the way it works but won't give you what they're supposed to. So the above is the best, most reliable way.

        Note:

        1. The code is 6 digits and always divisible by 3. So if you can't complete the online survey for some reason, enter any 6 digit number into a calculator like 187492, check if it's perfectly divisible by 3, and if not round it up (or down) to a whole number - then times THAT number by 3 to get your 6 digits. e.g. With my example 187492 divided by 3 = 62497.33333333333. That's not a whole number. So I round it up or down to 62497 or 62498 then times that by 3. So 62497 x 3 = 187491. Write 187491 on the receipt. Don't do this all the time because they might cancel the whole thing if they get too many fakes. And yes, someone will now want to say any number works - but I have heard of staff who check the number divides by 3 as a quick check it's valid.

        2. If you see abandoned receipts pick them up and use those because staff frequently forget to give you a receipt.

        3. If they can't find your receipt as can they print it off again or say, "Anyone's receipt will do. I only want it for the survey." Only once have I been refused by some nitwit receipt nazi.

        4. You're supposed to do the survey within 3 days and redeem it within X days. I forget now. It's printed on the receipts. So be mindful of that because some staff don't even look, but others check the date and won't give you the free chips/drink.

        5. If you spend over $20 the free REGULAR chips and can of drink is SUPPOSED to become a LARGE chips and FAMILY SIZED (1.2L) drink. Again, not all staff know/will do this but they're supposed to.

        6. When they don't fulfill what they're supposed to contact KFC on Facebook, explain what happened, and they make the store manager contact you, apologise, and give you free credit via a code you quote at your next order at that store.

        7. If you get a receipt with just your initials on it, you also get an email invoice. You can't do the survey without an order number. So use the order number from the email. Some people then print out that email invoice and write their survey code on it. Others write the order number from the email onto the receipt. I've had lots of trouble with the first method so I do the second. (I think I entered a fake order number once, and I think I had to click the survey a couple of times to get it to accept that wrong number. But again I don't make a habit of this in case they get too many fakes and decide to cancel the offer.)

        8. No, you're not supposed to redeem the same code/survey multiple times. But as someone above said, some get away with it. The survey is meant to be a tool for their benefit, but again, some staff are useless/apathetic. But you can bet that one day, the guy at your local KFC will get a new job or be sick that day and someone else won't accept it, or you'll be at a different store, and you'll have to go back to the "real" method.

    No S&S option?

  • +2

Be aware some specific kfc stores used breast slices pretending tenders, those breasts were cooked before coating to spices, tastes terrible. Eg In south East Melbourne burwood East ringwood Mooroolbark etc.

    • +2

Aren't 'tenders' breast pieces anyway ?

      • +1

It's more about the coating coverage. Cutting up a cooked zinger breast piece exposes unbreaded parts which aren't as tasty.

    • How does their franchise agreement even allow them to deviate from the standard menu offering.

      • Having worked at a franchise store (of another chain), I can tell you that the franchise agreement means nothing to the franchisee as long as the regional manager isn't around.

    • @rartelif - How do you know which stores in SE Melbourne do this instead of actual tenders? I know Lilydale and Chirnside Park are the same as like you say cut up chicken. Would be nice to know which stores are selling the "Good" stuff

      • Forest hill(Vermont) on Canterbury rd is the only one I would suggest. I’ve been worked as Uber driver for a while now and always ordered food while waiting.

  • +1

    mhmm cannibalism

    • +2

Don’t worry — these tenders are plant-based. Because you are what you eat, even if you’re a chicken

    Extra 10% off with s&s?

can I stack this with 14% cashrewards at 4pm? or will it be out of stock by then

The tenders are the same price but have noticed a drop in quality and size.

    Ever been to Coles/woolworths?
    8-10 frozen tenders = $3.80

  • +1

Anyone else find tenders to be awfully salty? Or is it just my local KFC..

    • +2

Generally speaking, they way fast food operates is to douse fatty things in salt and sugar to try and get some taste into it.
The more you develop your sense of taste, the less you will be able to tolerate this type of thing.

    • Tenders use the same flour / seasoning / salt mix as Original Recipe and Original Fillets (7-8% salt).

      • Same mix but perhaps more per chicken piece? So higher ratio.

        • Tenders are breaded twice (same with drumsticks), so that might be it.

However the salt content would still be the same 7-8% of the flour mix regardless.

What I'm guessing happened is the store didn't mix the flour properly so Zaphy got way more than intended.

      • +1

That is a LOT of salt. For reference cured meat recipes (salami etc) which contain no preservative apart from salt only call for 2%

        • +3

I'm talking only about the breading / flour mix, it is far less than 7% overall.

You can look at the nutritional information for reference , there is ~.3g of sodium (~1g of salt) in a 39g tender.

My point in the first place was that tenders have the exact same % of salt in the breading as everything else.

      • WTF 7-8% SALT!?!?!?!?!

    • You're not alone. The tenders at my local KFC have been rather salty of late…5 tenders is about the limit for me.

It well could be a mixing issue as Vinodra mentioned.

    • I got some at lunch today and they are so salty I can't eat them. it's HORRIBLE. Gonna chuck them.

  • +1

Wait for price match at Amazon?

  • +1

too bad, im all out of dine and discover

  • +2

    Tasty but too much salt.

Bring back the boneless chicken pieces, please.

  • +2

as everyone is saying, these are saltyyyyy, but have with some rice or potato and now you can have somewhat of a meal through the inflations.

  • This meal is all time. Make sure you get the SUPERCHARGED sauce for the absolute GOAT of KFC meals

  • +2

Nice but they are tiny at my local store

  • +1

anyone know if tenders come in hot and spicy from the stores that sell hot and spicy

  • +2

Their tenders are dry as the desert these days and thin as hell. Actually everything I got from them was smaller and and drier. Time to take a break from dirty bird for a long time.

  • Little gem of a deal.

  • -1

but you can no longer use Wicked Wings to build your KFC bucket therefore props to KFC!

is it me or these are just pretty dry chicken breast tenders and people only get them for convenience because they don't have bone

    • definitely not juicy, needs sauce or wash down with soda

      • Soda lol

Yeah I think I had them before they dry as
