I'd say this is an even better deal than the previous Sandisk 256gb microSD card deal, as it has a faster write speed (approximately double compared to the Sandisk Ultra). Also I've had 2 sandisk ultra cards fail previously, so I'd prefer a Samsung branded card.

This card is probably the Samsung Evo Plus but rebranded for Amazon.

I too have had Sandisk cards fail and prefer Samsung as a result. I have not seen much about the 'EVO Select' range however but the price seems right!

EVO Select is just the Amazon branded EVO Plus

  • Is this the one for dash cams?

    • +7

For dash cams it's recommended to get a high endurance microsd card, as they will last much longer when recording continuously.

Yes. This is good quality, 136 layer 3D TLC based. You are looking at ~ 500 - 1000 P/E cycles. This should easily go 10 years if you drive 2 hours a day.

Yes it's good for dash cam, don't need endurance

Can confirm the Samsung Evo plus branded 256 cards are fantastic. Got a bunch in the last $29 deal and use them in the A7III/A6500/DJI Air 2s for 4K and 5.2K 120mbps recording no problems.

  • Good for Switch?

    • I use them for everything, I'm sure it's fine in a switch

    • Even Sandisk Ultra is fine for Switch. It won't hit the read cap and write speeds are fairly pointless (for the Switch).

But this post is Samsung brand though?

        • What I'm saying is that this is good for Switch and even a lower end one is good for Switch.

Just for the ease of claiming warranty when the card fails, you are safe to stay with SanDisk - absolutely easy process to deal with, and you are not required to send back the faulty unit IIRC. As compared to Samsung, which clearly did not have a process either online or via phone support to handle SD card warranty issues, I was asked to send back an SD card which had my photos on it, and was stuck in a read only mode. Not only did Samsung fail to acknowledge breach of privacy when demanding a faulty unit with personal data on it, they have not responded when I did send the unit it (after zapping the card with 2000v, of course, making it unreadable). I am not buying Samsung for anything more than $10

PS: It was a 256gb card from one of the recent deals posted here

      breach of privacy

Almost every storage RMA wants your old unit back.

    • It was very easy to replace my broken SD card through Amazon returns. However, I haven't tried claiming SanDisk warranty yet.

  • Thanks got 2 for our recent Nintendo Switch purchases.

  • I want to buy one purely for the colour

  • Any good deals spotted on 128gb cards?

It comes up as $41.21 for me.
