    83%? Not good.
Third party newegg = no hope, iirc?

83% positive and it's third party vendor what could go wrong

    • But Newegg…

You're not buying from Newegg. You're buying directly from a third party seller who happens to use the Newegg platform payment system. It's no different as if you bought this direct from a seller through eBay who uses the ebay payment system for payment. You buy directly from some unknown seller merchant in Hong Kong with a low rating. Now what could possibly go wrong!.

        • Its like a double-whammy

Some seagate exos enterprise have different warranty claim process. If the supplier purchase from Seagate via company/enterprise bulk purchase, the warranty claim need to go through that company as Seagate will not accept warranty repair from individual. Better avoid this drive, unless you want go through the trouble.

Yeah, no. Not 3rd party sellers anywhere.

    83% 😂
Could you imagine if someone posted a deal from an ebay seller with 83% positive feedback?
    Ozb would eat them alive

Basically no difference here apart from Newegg being used as the payment platform. Yep that's right the only thing Newegg here is the payment platform. How it got 33+ and no negative votes i don't even know.

Personally i would never risk this over a seller with a measly 83% rating and not only that shipped from Hong Kong it in my opinion is just not worth it. I don't care if Newegg is being used as the payment platform.

Should just wait for the next OzBargain group buy for enterprise HDDs.

Setup a search alert for type:classified user:41945 and come back in 3 months or so…

          • @Namidairo: Or I will let you know when the next one is coming :)

            • @Neology: I would also appreciate knowing the next time this occurs. I have two raid arrays I want to upgrade in the next few months!

@Neology: Just a side note that I can vouch for the neology group buys. Seagate X16 arrived quickly and well packed, and of course at a great price. Thanks for organising neology.

  • Can this be used as surveillance HDD? What is the difference?

    • +2

I use the enterprise HDD for surveillance and it is fine.
Surveillance HDD has firmware optimised for video recording, but may not be suitable for data storage. And enterprise HDD can be used for both.

  • Restocked! @$353.10

    • Thanks, updated!
