  • For the cheaper Ozbargain'ers out there HotasDIY.

    • Not as useful if youre wanting to use flight sim and get a more realistic aircraft feel

        Yeah these are magic. Alpha…check. Bravo…check. Charlie…pending.

        • +2

I’ve got a preorder in for the xpc alpha and Charlie. Can’t wait

          • @B Wat: My son is taking lessons for his license, do you think the pre order on the xpc alpha is worth the wait and $ over the combo deal in the description?

Ah what the hell it’s his birthday in two weeks, I’ll get then bundle. He’ll be damn happy

            • +1

@audumla: Yeah go for it. The XPC version works with Xbox and has better sensors in it so might be a little more accurate. Doubt many people would notice the difference unless going back to back. It’s $699 at JBHIFI though. I need a new graphics card later in the year so the timing works for me. Otherwise I think the combo deal is really good. Enjoy!

  • Been using CH products for years (yoke, joystick, rudder pedals and quadrant) and learnt to fly with them but they're feeling a bit tired after 15 years..

Not really up to speed with what's on the market these days for home simmers but can someone tell me if these Honeycomb products are the gold standard?

    • Not sure I’d say gold standard but for the prices I don’t think you can go wrong. Plenty of info on YouTube

    • 15 years - that's a good run!

Check out the numerous Youtube reviews - for the price, seems to be the bees knees, with few caveats. Overall build quality is solid. Only common negative I picked up is that the roll axis is overly light compared to pitch.. so this mimics GA aircraft a bit better than the heavy metal.

The throttle in particular is crazy for the customisability of it. One reviewer put it best: it's as if they got a bunch of flight sim nerds in a room and asked them to design the perfect throttle for simming.

As an in-my-dreams budding pilot myself I jumped on the $630 (eBay plus) bundle - it's great value compared to everywhere else.

  • Okay so the Bravo arrived today. I have a question for anyone who owns one… throttle 4 (5th axis from left) on the Bravo I've been delivered doesn't have a flight idle/reverse detent. All other 5 out of the 6 axis have the detent.

Can anyone confirm if this is normal, can't think of any reason why they'd put the detent on 5 out of 6 levers? Or does the one I've been sent have an issue.

    • I just got mine the other day and all the throttles basically go up and down the same incl the detent

      • Thanks - might need to return this one in that caae
