  • The price keeps dropping but the value gets worse.

Ok if you just want the windows key I guess

I paid about $50 dollars more for the J4125 8GB DDR4 256GB eMMC and I’m getting plenty of value out of it running Alpine Linux with Docker and Portainer to deploy ownCloud and various other web apps.

Wouldn’t a used SFF desktop with 16GB, multiple HDs and a fan be even better value?

        • +2

Not for my purposes, especially at today’s power prices.

Why are these becoming a daily ozbargain post, are they in that high a demand it’s all we see…

    • +1

How about you share some deals to even it out a bit?

      • +3

To be fair, at least @Pugkin does post comps etc. So many whingers haven’t ever posted a thing.

    • New N5105 models?

    • Don’t recall any being posted yesterday…

Thanks op, I need a couple for work!

    • You’re welcome.

What could this emulate with decent performance?

Fine to have it as low as 720, don't care too much about resolution, but if it can run like game cube and what not at full speed, maybe some 3ds or something too, I might snag one to stuff around with

I use an Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max as an emulator but I’ll have to look into using my MeLE when I have some time. I imagine it would do a decent job.

      • What emulator are you using?

      • Ditto. My Mainers are the series x and a shield tv, but the fire stick does a remarkable job of psp and PS1 for me, which is the majority I use outside of PS2 era stuff.

My 4k max is black screening on psp lately though which is annoying, haven't had time to have a look at it yet, big poo

  • Would this be suitable for a HomeAssistant setup?

    • Probably overspecced for HA but it would certainly handle it.

    • +5

That would be using a sledgehammer to crack a nutshell

    • It should be suitable, but kinda depends on how many add-ons (docker containers) you run

  • Thanks - I’ll keep an eye out for a future deal. I was too slow this time.

  • Thanks, hopefully works good connecting to tv for kodi with 4k hevc etc

    Posted yesterday… ha!

  • It’s back available again, but only with a $30 voucher now ie $198.65

    • $215 with $30 voucher today

This thing has the same CPU as my pfsense box. Kind of impressed!

  • Technical Details
