It looks like a Great deal for handheld GPS. The last time I saw this at the price of 499.00

The Garmin GPSMAP 62s is an accurate, reliable, and waterproof navigator with quad-helix antenna and high sensitivity. This Garmin GPS Receiver has internal memory with a capacity of 1.7 GB as well as built-in basic maps, which contain data about roads, landscapes, and the marine environment. A three-axis compass and a barometric altimeter, which can help to predict changes in weather conditions, are also included in the Garmin GPSMAP 62s. The coloured screen of this handheld GPS navigator has a resolution of 160x240 pixels and can be read even in intense sunlight. The Garmin GPS Receiver requires two AA batteries and can function for up to 20 hours before the batteries will need to be replaced. In addition, the Garmin GPSMAP 62s allows for geocaches to be downloaded onto the device because of its GPX file compatibility. This handheld GPS navigator supports various applications and it is also possible to share one’s experiences on Twitter and Facebook.

    Good deal but add $150 for Aust and NZ Topo maps unless you save by using Shonkymaps.
    Just purchased the Garmin Oregon 450t has Topos built in and an awesome touch interface plus all the features of the 62s and 3inch screen for $530.

      I find OpenStreetMaps is really good in my area - and free. I have that and Shonky loaded.

    (Today, you'd get most of the hardware CHEAPER,
    eg, in an ASUS TF101 (might even get a dock in the deal)… PLUS licensed Radio Amateurs can add free International comms (-not- to phones, of course) with the free EchoLink app.)
