      • It happens sometimes. Could be a different warehouse then listing it. Can be very annoying sometimes, especially with such a great buy as this one!

        • Have you ever bought the same item a second time and received it?

          • @warmfruit: Yes, the hot pepper sauce. I’m hoping to score the biltong at some point again! :)

            • +1

@carlenet: I managed to get one of those for $1.10. They've increased the price now. Some items the price gets reduced if they don't sell, while other items increase in price.

We need a person on the inside at the warehouse.

      • just got shipping confirmation

  • Dickies Men's 13 Inch Loose Fit Multi-Pocket Work Short Size 52, khaki colour, $7.84. Item shows minimal signs of wear, consistent with being tried on but not used. One left in stock, have to add it to cart using 'see all buying options.'

    • They have a lot of these up all the time. Maybe not quite this low price though. Haven't quite pulled the trigger yet. Boss would probably throw it out once I pull it out of the box. I don't think she would approve.

    • Now dropped to $6.38.

  • Has anyone been able to get the popcorn? I sometimes see it but it's sold out within minutes.

    • +2

I did, but it arrived opened so had to get a refund. They sent it in a padded envelope so likely got squashed.

You sure the flex driver didn't feel peckish and wanted a nibble?

        • All those "Package damaged" deliveries must be the delivery drivers getting hungry and eating our short dated grocery items.

All the " Out of stock" cancelled orders are probably amazon employees keeping the items themselves and labelling them no stock left.

          • +1

            @warmfruit:

All the " Out of stock" cancelled orders are probably amazon employees keeping the items themselves and labelling them no stock left.

Why would employees bother to put it up if they intent to take it for themselves? Unless it is spread across multiple, like employee A sees near expire stock and put it up, then employee B sees it, cancels order and keeps it for themselves?

            • @CodeXD: I assume that's what's happening. First employee puts it up for sale, one of us buys it. Then another goes to package it or whatever and decides to keep it for themselves, goes and labels it on the system as "No stock".

              • @warmfruit: Your speculation is employees stealing from Amazon warehouse? lol

There is usually a delay between when a product is out of stock to showing it as unavailable on the product page. Far more likely for the system to be over allocating availability and item counter hasn't caught up. Especially since we all follow the same warehouse/pantry link and twitter feed.

                • @CodeXD: Nah man, it's a big conspiracy. They all want our short dated groceries. They taste better than the regular dated ones, that's why the amazon employees are stealing from the warehouse.

    • +1

Minutes…try seconds. The last lot sold within 10 seconds. As soon as the post went up, clicked buy now and by the time the place order page loaded it was already gone.

Sweet William Chocolate Baking Buttons 300 g, Brown is available for $2.49 (Save 64%, was $6.99). This item will expire on 30/05/22. ~1 available.

Interesting to see an item show up that has actually passed it's expiry date by a fair bit. I would've expected a bigger discount in that case.

    • It is also Vegan - Gluten Free, Soy, Dairy Free, Nut Free, Non-GMO

      • +1

It is “Brown” though, so it could just be cardboard?…

        • Went "Brown" because it's well passed it's expiry date.

        • +1

Cardboard is vegan and gluten free. You could be onto something there.

    • Is it even legal to sell past expiry?

      • +1

It will be a best before date, so yes.

        • Right. Is there a limit to that? Eg 1 year or something?

          • @snoopydoop: I don't believe there is a stated limit.

Foods can be legally sold after a 'best before' date as long as they are not damaged, deteriorated or perished.

      • IGA does this all the time. Best before dates are just a rough guideline of maximum quality and quite a few places have actually done away with them.

    • Supermarkets chuck items near best before in the dumpster all the time. At least Amazon is less wasteful.

      Gotta maximise those Bezos profits

    • How do you see stock levels?

      • The quantity button.

        • +1

That can only show you max 30. You have to add 1 to cart and then in cart edit quantity to 10+ then manually type in 999 and click update. It will then adjust it down to how many is left (assuming its less than 999)

Help me guys, I almost bought that $11 insulated shaker today, phew.

    • +1

Don't worry, this is a non-judgement zone. I was tempted to buy the captain America shaker yesterday

    • +1

Don't buy it. I have three of them. I've got the plastic ones from the same brand and they've never leaked. I didn't want to use plastic anymore so I bought the metal ones, but all three of mine leak. A lot reviews have said the same thing.

The metal ones are more expensive but they're crap.

I purchased a treadmill earlier today for ~$80 (pricing error, usually goes for ~$800) and the seller messaged me acknowledging the error with Amazon ASIN mixups on a few of their items and sent me a $15 Prezee GC 🥰

    • +2

Meanwhile, when I tried buying a $1000 tablet for $2 my order gets canceled stating an address error :/

Goes to show not all price errors get honored even when they don't get posted to OzB. (tHaT's BeCaUsE mUzeEb DiDn'T gEt iNvOlvEd).

Great gesture from the Amazon seller.
