kangaberries on 05/06/2012 - 01:32 ¶Yep but you can only get 1 per person. Unless you found a way to get more??

+2 votesgreenpossum on 05/06/2012 - 02:10 ¶Relax, that's probably due to the fact that Groupon is redeeming the coupons on your behalf and you don't need to do anything but wait for the cards to arrive by post.
The cards are valid for 12 months BTW.
+16 votesmmmm save $4… my local petrol station is always at least 6c cheaper than woolies. People should be supporting their loal rather than giving their money to big business even if it costs them a dollar more outside of this lame discount. Feel free to neg this, but supporting your local will pay off.

-1 voteIt's not just petrol though. You can use it for what you should be buying at super markets, canned goods. I'll be using it for that. I get all my fresh produce from local independent grocers or weekend markets. But things like soft drink, canned goods, e.t.c. I get on special from Woolworths, Coles or Aldi. Wherever is cheapest. I've got all 3 within a few minutes walk of me.
+2 votesgreenpossum on 05/06/2012 - 08:50 ¶It's a petrol card though so the only groceries you can buy are the overpriced stuff sold in servos.
arcticmonkey on 05/06/2012 - 08:45 ¶Well said, kumquat.
People are more interested in the short term gain (a small discount) than long term pain (local stations continuing to go out of business allowing the big companies to raise prices).
Once the competition is killed, what motivation do they have to keep prices low?

Would love to support my local but both of them only update their prices once a week and are usually 5 cents more expensive (i've seen them 10 cents more expensive) than any of the big brand providers in the town over (15km away) and they often have out of order pumps, probably because they are as old as the owners.

But don't forget that caltex probably only excepts ONE voucher Card. Conditions don't say, but I'd be abit concerned if it did not work apon redeeming the vouchers at the station.
Also don't even bother spamming to get referral credit, been there, and done that, had my credit forfeited, you get warned next day upon doing it, and they shut down your account.
The people who got the $5 credit code in there email, how long ao was this? Can't find it in my email.
Edit: people who received the free credit, was only because you havnt bought off groupon before or havnt for awhile, did abit of googling.
+3 votesEven if Caltex accepts only 1 voucher card, that is not a problem. Just simply enter $10 at the pump. Fill up. Pay. Go back to your vehicle and pump the 2nd time. Do it as many times as you have vouchers. Sure, the drivers in the cars behind you will get fed up, but hey…. you save money. A true Ozbargainer would never let a little inconvenience get in the way of saving money. ;-)
PS: I'm only kidding.

prisonerzero on 05/06/2012 - 11:57 ¶I put "PO BOX" in the Street Number box and the number in the Street Name box. Seemed to work.
+2 votesDo we need to do anything? The 'This is how it works' says 2. Enter code into the voucher field on the deal offerer's website. Although in the fine print it says 'no need for further action after checkout'.
This is so confusing and ive been burnt by living social previously because i thought I could use the voucher 'whenever until expiry' but in fact i had to redeem in three weeks. $60 was gone for nothing :(
greenpossum on 05/06/2012 - 21:46 ¶Expiry's not a problem that's peculiar to group buys though. Any kind of gift card or voucher with an expiry date has to be tracked or you'll forget. I have a cinema pass that I know I have to use before Sep. So hooray for cards like Bunnings that don't expire.
These cards are good for 12 months BTW. For sure you will tank up or shop at Westfields before next June. Unless you mislay the card.
