Same deal at The Good Guys if you’ve missed this deal after the 14th Aug

  • Can you also redeem watch with the phone?

    • What watch we are talking about here?

      • Assume he’s talking about the Telstra deal. The answer would be no as it’s different company.

  • Mmmm…..

I still remember Amazon member day sale

    It’s older model at $6xx

    • Might snag this model during next year prime day sales. Will look at the long term review and if their wear and tear holds up.

Whoever go with 24 months contact to get a phone in 2022 is not smart. Period. Its just showing that you csnt afford the phone.

    Its the debt mentality.

This ain't a mortgage champ. 2 years isn't a big deal if that's what they want to do.

Why would anyone choose to pay $99 per month for 2 years?

I pay about $12 per month for my plan, unlimited calls and texts. Less data, but I never use even 10 gig in 6 months. Why do people need 300 gigs of mobile data?

These Flip phones don't actually "flip". There is no spring-loaded hinge. I bought one, regretted it, went back to my old cheap phone.

        • You can't imagine any scenario someone needs 300gb in data?

Very few people would need 300 gigs of MOBILE data, unless for some reason they have no internet at home. Even then, I'm paying about $70 per month for unlimited home internet.

Anyone paying Telstra $99 per month for a phone plan, is doing it wrong.

@cerealJay: Please gain an imagination. Please. Just give it a little think. You'll get there.

Are you a condescending tool all the time, or just this discussion?

Like I said, 300 gigs is a LOT of phone data to use in one month for most people. Those using their mobile as home internet, are in the minority. Most people have home WIFI, and don't need mobile data at home.

If you're so wise on this topic, why don't you share what a typical use of 300 gigs of phone data looks like in one month?

                • @cerealJay: I love how you think I'm the tool here, where in reality you're the one that genuinely can't think of how the internet is used, and is giving attitude to everyone that disagrees with you. You need to have a hard look at yourself, also look into theory of mind. It's extremely clear you do not possess it and are incapable of understanding that other people don't interact with the world in the same way you do.

This is a pointless irrelevant thing to say, as who cares who, or how many people are using it. You haven't the faintest idea who is using what. You are not all knowing. Stop caring about how other people choose to a) use their money, or b) interact with the internet. Seriously, stop being a flog.

Different use case, your situation doesn’t appeal to everyone.

I use phone data for gaming, streaming ect. Not 300gb worth, but usually about 100gb a month

        • That's funny 10gb in 6 months, your parents don't let you use the internet or something along those lines, I'm guessing?

Don't know what wouldnt use 300gbs of data, what if one games, watches YouTube videos, netflix videos, data backup on ones phone, maybe how about just checking ones emails? Ok maybe not checking emails would but surely watching Netflix movies on ones TV all day would

I use something called WIFI when I'm home. When out, why would anyone stream gigs of content on a phone LOL. Normal use of internet and online services like maps and social media, doesn't require hundreds of gigs.

        • Since when does flip mean spring loaded hinge? I can flip a coin. Here, I'm flipping my springless middle finger at you.

          • -1

            @NoApostrophePlurals:

            I can flip a coin.

With one hand, you can FLIP a coin easily so it spins in the air.

You can't FLIP the Samsung phone that easily. The best you can do is awkwardly unfold it with two hands, then kid yourself that you just "flipped" it.

            • @cerealJay: So now you're being oddly specific, that you need to flip it open with only one hand. Keep making fallible reasons for naming conventions all you want. It's just a freaking name for a device. It's not a law.

              • @NoApostrophePlurals:

It's just a freaking name for a device.

Nothing is ever "just a name" in the billion dollar smartphone industry.

They likely intended for an actual "flip", but couldn't make it happen. They kept name anyway because the name sells. In reality, the phone folds open and shut like its big brother.

You're forgetting how loved the original flip phones were. Flip is the key word. Nobody ever said "we need to get rid of spring-loaded mechanisms, they suck". Nobody said that. Samsung couldn't make it happen. The name aspires to a flip, but doesn't deliver. Engineering limitations, or they just couldn't figure out how to make it happen while keeping the device and screen durable.

If you bother watching reviews that aren't sponsored suck-jobs, you'll find many reviewers draw attention to how the phone can't be flipped open or closed.

    • Although I agree mostly, it’s not always true as some people just like to budget differently. Paying in weekly or monthly instalments is easier for some people to manage and gives you more flexibility if your wage fluctuates from week to week.

The irony is, this phone probably won't last 24 months and you have to pay extra for SamsungCarePlus which is absolutely essential for this phone. (Before you judge I have a flip 3)

Screen on partners flip 3 lasted 3 months, we returned it to Telstra and switched to a sim only plan after that.

  • Well the Fold 4 is over $2k to buy outright (not including any upcoming deals) think fair price overall as plan and phone is $2400 over 2 years, importantly those that can't afford the high outlay for the fd 4 phone,.. this is a way of paying it off slowly over 2 years and bonus having a plan and 200gb of data per month, well depends how one looks at it 👍😁 my 2 cents

  • Harvey Norman has it for $69 plan per month for 24mnths 80gb data. The phone is $399 upfront plus $300 in harvey norman gift card.
Thats way better than jb deal for $99 and no gift card.
