Thanks, OP. I've been watching this for a long time and this is the best price I've ever seen. Just made the order.

    • Yeah cheers OP, thanks for posting and not much more than the recent Aldi one.

  • Great price. Bought one. Appreciate the find! :)

  • Perfect, thanks. I've been looking to get a drill press for years, and although there are a few comments saying this isn't the most accurate one (many comments saying 1mm of slop), it's going to be a damn sight better than a hand drill.

    • It is. Suddenly ALDI replica is a far better, I'm able to use 0.4mm drill bit with no problem.
It also fine to use with 13mm drill bit on 10mm thick metal.
TBH its was surprise for me. Didn’t expected it from ordinary ALDI equipment.

      • You're saying the ALDI one IS better than the Bosch?

        • I haven't got Bosch to compare, but according to reviews its not suitable for precision works. ALDI variant is proved for me is good for wide kind of work.

          • @simb24: How loud is the aldi one? I read that it has a gearbox rather than belt and is very noisy.

            • @alumunum: It is not with gearbox, but with electronic speed regulation, as well as I think in the Bosch.
And it is quite noisy. But not terribly.

              • @simb24: Thanks. Perhaps the reviews I was watching were for an older model. It's hard to tell with aldi stuff.

                • @alumunum: Amazon have few 2022 reviews from Australia with same bad experience as older models.
Its however not enough reviews for ALDI model. I bought my from ALDI for generally testing anly, cos I got one in my garage, I think its some Chinese cheap brand with belt. Terrible wobbling chuck in all directions.
ALDI given 60 days free return, I so I can try and compare its with Bosch.
I decided to keep it for my in home workshop, its portable and good for precise drilling.

                  • @simb24: It's good for a 'wide kind of work' but it's also terrible chuck wobbles?
So Aldi not great for precision either? Sorry, just a little confused.

                    • @albot: No, Bosch it not good, big chance to get with wobbly chuck.
Doesn't looks that Bosch improved quality.
With ALDI I'm able to drill with 0.4mm drill bits! That amazing.
As well as it can be used with big drills bits.

                      • @simb24: Wow, I like the sound of that. My local Aldi seems to always have HEAPS of specials that don't sell and get marked down - I think the digital drill press is currently $99.

@albot: So you can try it with no risk, if its no good for you, you got 60 days to return it with no problem.

  • Good price. Also, Bosch Router POF 1200 AE 15% discount ($127.50), seems to get good reviews

Beware, this model has a .25", 6mm and 8mm collet and apparently cannot take a .5" collet (common size for larger routers).

      • Yeah this is a low end router but there are plenty of 1/4" bits available from Amazon, Ebay, Bunnings that will cover most DIY needs. If you're working with hardwoods or larger projects then this won't have enough grunt and you need to look at $500+ options

I've got one of these and quite happy with it. Run out is a minor (never measured it) disappointment which could be solved by an upgraded chuck but for general woodwork etc no problems. For building a backyard space shuttle you might need the deluxe version;)

  • Can't see the discount voucher?

  • OOS?

  • Looks like it's out-of-stock; the coupon is no longer available.

  • This is an AMAZING price, I have had one for 4 years or so now, and it is amazing to have. On previous drill presses I'd almost never change the belt positions due to being in a hurry or lazy.
The runout on mine wasn't bad at all.

  • wow i got this on prime day and was happy with the price. Id say i wish id waited for this, but it was sold out by the time id seen it anyway. Good job anyone who scored it at this price :)

Damn missed a couple good deals. Thanks Monday morning

  • Back in stock. Would post a new deal but can't

  • Just had mine delivered and a bit disappointed as it looks like it may be a return or refurbed units hence the low price.

There was no Amazon outer box, just the Bosch original packaging and this box looked old and was really bashed about, nor did it have any security tape over the box tabs and looked like it had been opened lots of times.
Inside the box the components don't have that brand new look and there's even what looks like a small bit of sawdust residue stuck between the top green casing.

Anyone else's arrived looking like this?

Yeah mine came in a factory box a bit roughed up. Has been pre opened too. The contents look brand new though.

I'll test it on the weekend.
