Not saying this is a bad deal (because inflation yadda yadda), but I think the L700A has been this price in the past.

    • It doesn't appear on OzBargain at any lower than $384.

      • Sorry not on ozbargain. I saw the price in store and specifically remember it being exactly half price.

I looked it up the retail price is $699, so I think it was $349 sorry not $299.

It could have been $299 though, because there is a problem with the L700A I think they fixed it with firmware but it was well known for having a battery drain issue when turned off so people were not buying them.

FYI just checked the cause of the problem is the 3D virtual feature and the E700A does not have that feature so it should not be a problem.

I just noticed one of the ozbargain posts is $384 for a Pre order. That's probably because the "fault" information was already public and they wanted to sell them quick I reckon.

this only pairs with 1 device only, a deal breaker for me.

Kinda uncomfortable compared to its competition.

Also very bassy. Definitely worth trying on at JB first.

  • Bass heavy indeed, and the noise cancelling is minimal. Though the passive isolation is great. I would recommend looking into their earbuds the TW-E7B for better active noise cancellation and a more even sound signature.

I did enjoy the headphones sound, but the overemphasised bass kinda got old for me, felt like I was getting punched in the head. But the sound is great otherwise if u like bass.

    • "Bass heavy indeed"

That's weird coming from Yamaha. I expected them to have a clear balanced sound, not Bass heavy. Are you sure there was not some setting like "Bass boost" that was turned on by default?

Anyhow $300 is outside the realm I am willing to pay for headphones.

      • I’ve tried them. I consider the Sony WH-XM series to be bass-heavy but still fine (albeit a little muddy), but these were unnecessarily excessive. Truly bass cannons.
