Game's 40% off Clearance Sale (Instore and Online)
This was posted 1 year 12 days ago, and might be an out-dated deal
As title says. I think its due to them closing down in the near future. For more information on this possible closure and the risks it has to customers read:
http://www.lifehacker.com.au/2012/05/is-it-safe-to-buy-from-...
Expect things to be very slow, as it is currently being ozbargained the hell out of right now.
Excludes digital cards and hardware.
Update: Comments say online items as late as monday have arrived, so i believe this means online ordering is still reliable. Site appears to be operating reasonably now. And also, their facebook mentions to order by platform, as not all discounted items are listed by default.

Considering Blizzard themselves stepped in to help out all those customers that lost their pre-orders with Game, I'm going to take a wild stab and assume that it was a hugely significant portion of all pre-orders.

So $46.8 after the discount.
leonheart1 on 07/06/2012 - 18:06 ¶Same and DSE was selling it for $40.
Hope I don't have to do a chargeback - I'm not even sure how.

I added items to my cart not included in the 40% off sale, and they got the discount too! Hoping Game don't notice this and send it to me…
+2 votesYou should put in your description that Game has gone into administration. Online orders are risky - http://www.lifehacker.com.au/2012/05/is-it-safe-to-buy-from-...
+1 voteumadbrahhhh on 07/06/2012 - 17:31 ¶Chargeback on the CC should be fine (but not 100% ofcourse). Goods or services paid for but not received.
+4 votesKnowingNothing on 07/06/2012 - 17:21 ¶It looks like GAME's administration has been sold to Catch of the Day

+2 votesvietorious on 07/06/2012 - 17:41 ¶Holy crap! Here I go failing exams once again. Game - helping the universities earn more money.

It's more like 150 an hour casually and your prep time can be 4+ hours depending on your field .
Just so you know.
Considering said lecturer is probably on staff you should probably know that anyone below professor is probably on below 90k, more likely 70-80.
You department head numbers are bollocks.
So, your actually getting your lecturers for a real ozbargain… . Or an ozdisgrace if you compare it to what you get in other fields.
+2 votesumadbrahhhh on 07/06/2012 - 17:43 ¶Site is proper dead now.
EDIT: or not? haha
EDIT2: actually is faster now
Why the minus votes? They're in administration.
Quoted from the Lifehacker link:
"Buying online is very risky. If you order goods and the administrators decide to close the operations before they ship, you’ll be very low on the list of creditors to be repaid. (First up are the administrators themselves, then secured creditors such as banks and landlords.) I’d be holding back from ordering online from GAME for the near future."
+1 votetheguyrules on 07/06/2012 - 17:53 ¶Only wanted to get the speed wheel +forza, and it went out of stock while checking out.
Damn you, DVDguy!
loljks, have fun!
threesixty on 07/06/2012 - 18:05 ¶Ha, same.
Will probably wander into my local store tomorrow morning, doubt they'd have stock though..
thackleberry on 07/06/2012 - 18:11 ¶Tried to get Starcraft 2 but code isn't applying to it, waaa :(
+1 votedarthhasbro on 07/06/2012 - 18:11 ¶Damnit, just bought a game from them at 25% off and got it today
It was shipped via Couriers Please, they are a prepay courier service
+1 votetheguyrules on 07/06/2012 - 18:13 ¶Code doesn't apply to already discounted items, which is stupid.
ALSO the site is doowwnnn

Just some added news:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-17578451Not sure what it means for aussie stores though.
+6 votesMarlboro Man on 07/06/2012 - 18:35 ¶So a GAME rep signs up, engages the community and even makes OzBargain targeted promotions. Next thing you know, Boom! They're in administration. I'm not saying the two are related but… ;)
+2 votesMy understanding is once a company goes into administration, any transactions placed while in administration are required to be honoured, or refunded if unavailable, as you are dealing with the administrators, and not the original company. By this logic, you should be safe to order online, and if they run out, you should get your money back.
The only issues that should arise are those that involve transactions prior to when the administrators took over (eg refunds / exchanges / preorders).
+2 votesYes, except the role of the administrators if to liquidate assets, and they can only do that at the moment by selling them off.
Any orders that are placed will be honoured, as they are the administrators assets now, not GAMES.
Anything left over will be auctioned in bulk, or returned to suppliers.

Administrator often keeps it running while they assess wether/how best to liquidate. Administrator ~administers the business while creditors meetings help and they work out with creditors if they will accept 2c on the $ etc. Administrator tries to freeze against further losses, collecting outstanding accounts, that may also mean trying to trade it on to keep it saleable by liquidator.
Voluntary administrator means they did it themselves vs regular or enforced administration. Sometimes voluntary admin means they got onto the problem before it got totally out of hand (but still a big mess usually & too far gone).
Then (& usually) when they cant work out a deal with the creditors liquidator is called in & Liquidator liquidates. Thats when someone will get a real bargain but it will usually be a job lot = not for you & me…
I wouldn't spend $ in big chunks except for pickup as once liquidator is in then your $ are pretty well gone…….

I've noticed just about all SquareEnix games are ridiculously cheap at the moment.
Wonder if they are in financial trouble or something, even on PSN they are one of the only companies to offer discounted digital games.
Deus Ex
Final Fantasy XIII / XIII - 2
Can be found for like $10 easy.
