  • Brilliant idea to combine the top plate/lid function. 6.8 quart is a decent volume too. Good deal

just be aware the bottom of this pot has a stand so cant really use at home unless u have gas fire stove, just outdoors camping

This is why I didn't pull the trigger, prefer induction, need a flat bottom

    • Was umming and ahhing about this - thought I could just machine off the legs on my milling machine ha

      • The thought crossed my mind that maybe an angle grinder could be put to good use, but really it's a lot of mucking around

I love the fact that the handles are described as "keeping hands safe from heat" but they show us a photo with heavy duty gloves being used!

  • Bought one to go with my Lodge L8SK3 10.25 Inch Cast Iron Skillet I have never used. lol

You should give it a go! Once you get used to cooking with cast iron it's great. Unless you have an high-iron deficiency!

      • What's a high-iron deficiency?

          • @itsTricky83: Is this classed as a deficiency? Seems like it's a hyper-absorption….now this condition would be ideal to not to use cast iron.

(Caveat - I'm not a doctor or medically qualified, especially since I was late to my first aid course this morning and now have to reschedule FML ;) )

@PleasureMachine: "Iron overload" is a simple and better term for it, I suppose. The older I get the less I care for the most applicable words. I did stop to think and correct it but by that time I was stuck doing other stuff. 😄

              • @itsTricky83: Ha thanks. Yeah just to me deficiency was definitely different to what you had linked….interesting all the same if cast iron actually imparts and supplements your food with iron.

      • Shouldn't the cast iron impart a very very very small amount of iron into your food? So how would this be detrimental to a deficiency?

If you are deficient you need to supplement and using cast iron would help?

(FYI - I thought this was crazy to think it would add iron to your food, but seems lots of people talk about it happening….I'm still skeptical FWIW).

        • It's my understanding they they can actually impart a decent amount, maybe a myth though

          • @bleeder: I thought it was more of a myth too….but happy to be convinced otherwise.

Have the flat pan and wok. Flat pan gets regular workout for pancakes. Wok anytime we do stir fry.
