  • Great price, bought for $99 and still haven't gotten around to building it yet.

    • Same. Bought as a christmas prezzy for the kiddie :D

    • Same here 🫢

  • Any way of driving it without using a mobile?

    • +1

      Tablet

      • i've seen in the lego exhibitions they did a mod which allowed a joypad (built out of legos) to be used instead. how hard would this be?

    • +1

You can connect it with a PS4 controller, but you still need a phone to connect to the controller.

  • Thanks OP!

  • Built mine, it's great for the price and a good platform for future ideas

  • +2

Crazy price considering it has the 4 port Bluetooth Hub and 2 motors.

    • Yeah, I got one last deal mainly for the motors..

  • Thanks OP!! Great price, can't wait to build it!

  • Is there any way you can program this?

My kids do some robotics using Lego at school and I'm wondering if you can use an app to program the Bluetooth module and motors to do stuff?

    • +1

the Lego PoweredUp app is what you need, it has a visual / block coding (ie not syntax) approach but fairly potent. For all else you require Lego Mindstorms, different hard and software. This is a good entry point for kids for logical control etc.

      • Thanks!

If you want to give it a go without the Lego apps, I've managed to hook them up to my computer and mess around with them. There's a few packages on Github which allow you to communicate with them via Bluetooth.

  • 'TOYSAV' is not working for me. Getting a messaging stating "Looks like that's the wrong code. Please double-check and try again."

    Any thoughts?

    • Do you have eBay plus?

I do and it just worked for me a minute ago

      • I don't, but it doesn't say anywhere that I need to be an eBay Plus member to use this promo code, does it?

  • +1

Our boys have a similar model to this. I'm sure it's great, but you won't want to be in the same room as them when they play with it, the noise of the plastic track is terrible on a hard floor! There is a good reason most cars have rubber on their wheels

    • This one has small rubber dots you add to the track which helps a little with the noise. But I wouldn’t call it quiet!

  • Thanks, bought.

  • God id love to have had this as a child

  • I'm thinking of grabbing one (maybe even two) for my kids.

But I'm keen to know how many motors and geared parts are in each set? I guess I'm wanting at least two motors that can run independantly, and maybe a stack of gears and poles so we can work with ratios/etc.
Bit of a noob in this space.

    • +1

1 Hub to control up to four devices.
      2 large motors
      Not too many gears

    • +1

This particular kit doesn't contain any gears. Motors connect directly with the tracks.

2 motors - one for each track. (and yes, they run independently. they have to to allow turning)

      • Thanks @mranderson978 and @MerlinKlendatu for the details. Nice to know what's in it and that it should work with other random bits of technics. It's gone from ebay & amazon promptly raised its price again, but is still on Big W's own website for free delivery - with the addition of some jelly beans to make $100 :)

  • +1

Amazon matched the price for $99

    • +1

But the price is $84 through ebay plus insn't it?

  • Bought one as early shopping for a christmas present. Did not require ebay plus to get the code.

    • +1

Yea no eBay plus required. But if you want free shipping, you can just get 1 month eBay plus and you might able to get the $5 back from shopback current promo.

      • Will I get my account banned if I say "that sounds like more effort than it is worth"?

Thanks for the heads up though.

  • thanks op bought one

  • Thanks OP, bought one.

  • Ordered mine thru Amazon.Au just now for $99 … delivery tomorrow …

  • And now amazon is oos too

    • aaaand now they've brought it back, at their usual price, a couple of hours later. Does Amazon really follow these things so closely? Seems a bit petty of them

  • +3

Its back in stock but limited just ordered on ebay

    • +1

      Me too :)

      • +1

Awesome, mine got shipped today also pretty impressed considering a late order.
