Thanks op. Just picked up the ozito basic one today for $108. Will take it back and grab this instead

  • Awesome thanks OP. Been wanting one of these since my friend lent me his. Very useful.
Does anyone know if the pressure hoses are all a universal size?
Looking at a couple of reviews and they recommend purchasing a larger hose.

For Karcher there's basically 2 types, the push/twist style for the K2-K7 units. Then there's the quick connect fitting, which is on their more commercial gear such as my petrol 3400 and it works like a Nitto air compressor fitting or clip on garden hose connector.

Thanks very much for the info, much appreciated.

      • So the Karcher hose is different from ozito?

  • Terrible reviews unfortunately. It has a plastic pump body - generally people recommend an aluminum one.

    • Will 5 yrs warranty compensate that?

my brother had the K2, it was ok, he upgraded to the K3 this year and streets ahead, worth spending the extra money

  • This or Gerni?

    • Gerni 3600 at bunnings is amazing value at $219

      • -3

Damn, what did I start war OR what?

      • I was going to get the 5300 as it seems like it has a better amount of power. Do you think it's worth it for regular paver, concrete and car cleaning?

        • Not really. Plenty of power on 3600 model. You may consider using the ‘power patio cleaner’ accessory. (On the other hand you could always change back and upgrade at bunnings)

          • @randomdude14: Would get the patio cleaner no matter what I got, just wanted to do it right. If it meant spending a bit more to have years of easier cleaning, money well spent.

            • @Mr BoMBAStiG: Patio cleaner that comes in a pack is the classic. There’s a more powerful one you can get separately.

        • The 5300 is brushless and comes with an anti kink hose, all very handy. Plus flow rate increased. Also pump isn't aluminium, steel? Does mean weight goes up, but tradeoff is better durability and extra 2 years in the warranty period

Going from a 3000 to a 7000 was a massive difference in power but not exactly what you're comparing

  • This or Bosch?

This or buy a new car when it gets dirty?

What you need is a Jeeves to help you clean it when it gets dirty. Waiting on a good deal on a Jeeves.

  • Need something to clean the deck and fence, preferably without blasting chunks out the wood.
    I assume this is suitable.

    • You would need a deck kit. Basically a rotating arm that will prevent shit flying off and not spray all over while you’re at it. Also covers a wider area making it a quicker job than doing it all day

this or waiting for the hailstorms to arrive, getting the car written off, then buying a new car

    • We waited to long to get ours assessed, they realise “oh crap we’ve written off too many cars, we’ll try to fix this one” and they really half arsed it.

  • Thanks OP I picked one up today. Just be wary of the in stock numbers as it practically said 1 out of 2 items available. I went in and they had both items.

Price beat this at Bunnings. $111.60. YMMV.

Good price and still available, so grabbed one. Upgrading to 10M hose via Amazon and a stubby gun, means it will be good for washing down my motorbikes and quick clean of car. And once it claps out, the extra length hose and gun can be taken to next K-series machine.

    • Would you mind posting the link to the items you purchased from Amazon? I’ve purchased this Karcher and the accessories you mention sound like they would be handy.

      • +4

Sure, though I am yet to receive, but worth the roll of the dice. Not good at posting links yet..
This Hose here & for the stubby gun took a spin of this

And later on would look to update to MJJC or similar depending on how the unit goes. If all goes Pete Tong will get the cranks and probably end up buying a Kranzle…

        • Thank you for the links. Those two products are almost equal to the cost of the actual unit.

This is will be my first pressure washer so I’ll just keep an eye out for cheap accessories.

          • +1

@jallen89: Absolutely agree not needed from day 1. Though you may find yourself look for a 10m hose extension as soon as possible though. The 5m hose length may drive you batty pretty quickly…

            • @stuntmanron: There are some cheaper 10m hoses on eBay but I’m unsure of the quality.
I’ll probably wait till I’ve used the pressure washer and see if I need a longer hose.

            • @stuntmanron: @stuntmanron what do you think of the
              larger 10m hose?
The 5m factory hose would be long enough for me if it wasn’t such a kinky mess. Trying to straighten it out just pulls the machine over.

              • @jallen89: Sorry, missed this. IMHO, the 10m hose is made in a smilar manner to the 5m hose, it will kink in a similar way, that's why I am looking for a different hose setup when I upgrade.

                • +1

@stuntmanron: It’s all good. I bloody hate the K2 hose. I think I’ll upgrade to the Gerni 7000. The steel lined hose and hose reel will be amazing.

  • I tried asking bunnings to price beat, but had no success.

    • Show them that when both items are added to cart, the discounted prices are individually listed. You're requesting a price beat on the 2 items separately.

  • Re the hoses for such a pressure washer - do I connect it to a regular garden hose like this and then washer-nozzle requires a high pressure hose, or do I need two high pressure hoses?
