BK Black Steel 30cm Frypan - Pre-Seasoned Carbon Steel $47.47 (Originally $94.95) + $9.95 Delivery ($0 C&C/ $99 Order) @ MYER

Part of mid year sale. I have their wok, seems be working fine the last 9 months so thought I'd buy their frying pan. Does involve a bit more work in cleaning and maintaining seasoning and preventing rust. Do note it is made in china for those who care. But as a budget carbon steel frying pan, pretty good to start with.

  • When you judge the longevity of a wok lasting 9 months as something positive…. you know we live in a disposable society.

I read it as it’s been 9 months and it’s working fine, not it lasted for 9 months?

      • +3

9 months is a low bar for “working fine”.

My wok is at least 10 years old and is not worn at all, having used it weekly. I can see myself using it for much longer.

I’ve got a few Solidteknics pans which will last the rest of my life if I want. I’m not a fan of non stick.

I bought this in their previous sale. It’s a good beginner friendly carbon steel. Just don’t set expectations that it’ll look pretty after seasoning.

  • Plastic handle?

Cast iron handle apparently from the review.

Tbh you don't need to go for this brand almost all carbon steel is good. I suggest blue steel pans as they have extra treatment. I have a cheap $25 chef inox one from a restaurant supply store I use daily

  • Wonder where these are made. BK is a Dutch brand.
