      no online multi, you need to have nintendo online subscription to play the multiplayer. it does have a single player story mode. but it is more like training for the multiplayer. nice game.

      Must admit I had forgot about this game but after checking reviews and particularly positive comments on recent updates that have improved the controls you've just made me pick it up for $44 (also on Amazon). Should provide a few hours of Sunday fun if Amazon sticks to its promise of delivering it tomorrow. Also looks to be selling for around the $60 mark on Ebay so after postage and commission you wouldn't lose much if you want to quickly pass it on once it is back at a non-discounted price in the stores.

      The disconnects are awful. And if you play ranked, you also have to deal with having to wait 2+ minutes for a battle, and horrible matchmaking.

      If nothing else, at least the matchmaking should improve after a month or so once everyone settles into their appropriate rank.

      I know right? I've experienced more disconnections in a few weeks playing Splatoon 3 (on a wired connection even) than I ever did playing Splatoon 2 since launch

      well, with 1 2 and 3, the game's mechanic is the same, shoot and paint. but this has the newest updates. like improve gyro and stuff. plus, this is an online multiplayer, so more players here than 1 and 2, cuz ofcourse who does not want the newest thing?

        You are right. Thank you. I also bought Splatoon 2 @ $49 (from Amazon) few weeks ago.
        But on 2 special occasion it was sold at $42.99 (OzGameShop) and $19.00 (Kogan).
        I am willing to pay for $49 for Splatoon 3 if on sale this year but not at the RRP/RSP.

    Has been a terrible experience with online play. Continuous errors and long wait times for match making. However it does appear to be getting better.

    Great casual fast pace fun!

      4 player split screen is what they are known for, but it's not all they do. Metroid or Zelda are mostly single player.
      For this type of game I think you'd struggle to keep up with the action on a quarter of a 1080p screen, and no way would it keep the smooth 60fps.

    have an upcoming LONG international flight, and will be bringing the Switch. Can anyone recommend some games that will entertain an 8 year old?

    We recently finished Luigi Mansion, so games like that are preferable. Currently playing through Mario Odyssey
