  • 350 nit typical brightness (afaik 400 is only in hdr mode, please correct me if I'm wrong) is a damn dim. When spending so much money on a screen it may be better to pay extra to get a better one (https://www.mwave.com.au/product/msi-optix-mpg321urqd-32-144…) or go down size or down resolution to get better brightness.

This looks like a monitor geared towards photo/video editing? If that is the case, it usually is better to not be super bright. Often you professionally calibrate them to darker anyway to get more accurate colour (print matching etc..)

      • I believe you calibrate to the environment you work in, not deliberately dark. And no two monitors are equal :s Display uniformity is a big issue for photo editing work.

Yep, you pay more if the panel has really good uniformity; this display is rated for 100% of the S-RGB space and 100% of Rec.709 plus its pre-calibrated out of the box (report is included) meaning if you really cant be arsed to calibrate it before use, its good enough to use until you get around to calibrating it manually (using a Spyder or X-Rite display calibrator).

Put it this way, this is targeting a way different space compared to your standard or gaming display.

  • Thanks OP. Was looking at this or the BenQ PD2705U to pair with Mac Studio, (which unfortunately wasn’t on sale). The 27” version is also available for those interested for $687.20.
