Wet weather has canned yet another trade show so we're offloading some of our older bags, whats the difference? Nothing! Both these bags are the cut from the same material however may be slightly darker green than some of our older bags.

For this to work you will need to add both the Kapooka Bag & the Overnight Bag to your cart and apply the coupon code.

  • @cooeecanvas Are these Australian Made? It is not clear on your website only referring to the source of the canvas. It they are its a great deal.

      Bags are yes :)

  • Hi! Are we ever going to see deals similar to https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/675431 ?

    Thanks.

    • +6

I really wish I could give you a definite on this one but it is unlikely at this stage. Earlier on we had a very large amount of material that virtually cost us nothing and combined with very competitive postage prices we were able to offer good sale prices. Unfortunately we no longer receive either of these so are feeling the pinch a bit.

  • These look great. My disposable income is sadly (profanity) otherwise I'd grab one.

    • +2

      We feel ya!

  • I have been reliably informed by Todd Howard that canvas is a very precious material. With that in mind, is this a good deal?

  • +2

Good deal, looks nothing like the duffel bag I got from Kapooka back in the 80's lol

  • I wish they still issued the duffel bag at Kapooka!

    • I heard they now issue dive bags?

      • Yup, a black bag with a retractable handle and wheels

        • does it double as body bag….

  • Anyone got any thoughts on these as your main check in bags for international flights? What I like is how light they start at and I imagine easy to handle. Wondering if my family should use something like this for our December trip. Not like we'd be packing crystal glasses.

    • easy to handle

That depends if you like holding and carrying your things.

Also if you need to put it down and it has been raining then you may need to put it somewhere wet.

      • So you mean dry? And I'm tallking check in so plan to be rid of them the moment I walk into airport and dump them off the trolley.

    • If you're just loading these up with clothes then they're perfect, you'd be surprised just how much you'll fit in them. Particularly if you plan on just loading them and throwing them under the plane I think you won't have any issues.

      • Cheers. Going to give it a crack.

I bought one of the big duffels when they were on sale a while back. It's now my go to checked in luggage of choice. I'm a jam everything in and zip it shut kind of packer (especially on the return trip) and this is perfect for that. It's also much lighter than the trolley bags with wheels, so you don't have as much of the kilogram allowance eaten up by the bag itself.

      • Thanks mate. That helps a lot. Taking over heaps of stuff to family at Christmas, not mostly fragile - wonder if I should get more. Some crazy stats going over like booked 40kg for. each of us, wife and kids so we'll be able to take 160kg all up haha. If this just handles clothes for all then it'll be doing its job. :) Wrapped to hear about your experience so thanks again.

        • I used canvas bags when migrated ti Australia, i custome made them as per airline soecs & used these to stuff with clothes, there were 8x of those & got looks from few when loaded these on trolley on arrival, but really saved the precious ks

          • @taker312: Btw, at that time 8 years ago it cost me $5 aud each & still going strong

I pulled the trigger, want the overnight bag for carry-on especially.

  • +1

Got the overnight bag around two weeks ago, it is fantastic. Impressed that it's Australian made, good size, the material is excellent too. Really happy with my purchase.

Just FYI, these are now 50% sold.

My son finished his basic training at Kapooka last week and absolutely hated it - so I sent him a link to this to remind him.

    • +3

A bag of nostalgia is better than a case of regret

      • Agree. He's moaning about it now but will probably look at it in future as a decent achievement - which it is.

Basic training, wherever you are or whenever, has always blown.

  • I needed something similar - so ordered. Thanks for sharing your deal.

  • How many L are either of them? Thanks

  • Already have the duffel and love it! Any deals on just the overnighter?

  • Grabbed one. Hopefully, it arrives before Thursday next week so that I can use it for my trip.

  • I've bought both the duffel and overnight bags from a couple of previous deals here. Awesome bags. I duffel was much bigger than I expect. I especially love the overnight bag though and have used it plenty of times for the weekend trip. Both are tough and sturdy. Would definitely recommend them.

  • Do the straps run under the (duffel) bag OP? Tossing up between this and AOS.

    • +1

Hey mate, no the straps do not go the whole way around on these ones.

  • These are great bags i bought some about 6 months ago, truely worth the cost, you can pay $80 for some nike brand bag which barely lasts a year.

Ive still got canvas bags and packs with the decent zips like these from 30 years still going.

Simply you can tell a bags quality by how strong the zip mechanism is.

  • Horses for courses and not apples with apples, but depending on what you are looking for this mob have some comparable deals and seem to be ok

    https://www.4wdsupacentre.com.au/kings-80l-extra-large-pvc-d…

    Just suggest checking them out

  • Tried to order - states coupon not valid. Is it out of stock? OP please advise.

    • +1

Coupon just worked for me, so I would try again.

      • +1

Same here just used it and it worked. Never heard if this brand but just seeing the reviews and the good recommendations here, bought it. Thanks Op for posting. Would not know this brand, online shop otherwise.

      • Thanks, ordered was doing it wrong.

  • ordered.. feels good to buy Made in Australia and from a relatively new business.

  • School requested this style bag for camp. Gladly picked up three of these instead of the Chinese rubbish you get at the big shops. They have also now done a trip to WA as well. They're brilliant.

  • Sold Out

  • +1

Gutted I just missed out! Definitely pulling the trigger sooner next time

  • +1

Did anyone's order got shipped already?

I ordered mine last Saturday and the tracking information since states "Ready for processing
It's either waiting to be picked up from the sender or ready for sorting at our facility."

    • last Saturday

They also reportedly ran out of stock on Saturday.
It’s possible that your order went through but they probably don’t have enough stock on hand to suffice some of the orders that came in on the last day..
Hopefully, they’ll receive a new batch of supplies soon.

      • +1

That could be correct. I think I ordered just after midnight and maybe that's why mine is on the way.

      • +1

Since they provided an Australia Post tracking number, I would have thought that they have stock.

However, it also has been sitting on the same status since last Saturday.

I was hoping to use it for my trip this Friday. It looks like it will not be arriving anytime soon.

  • +1

I purchased it on the 8th and received an email the same day saying it's on the way. According to the Aust Post tracking, it's in Sunshine as of this morning.

  • Mine has been stuck on "ready for processing" from Monday 10th October. I ordered day 1 before the 50% sold post was made, so doubt they are being sent by first in first sent.

  • All orders that had paid for express post were sent on Monday and these orders made up for the bulk of the first courier pickup. Our area is only serviced twice a week by Australia Post Courier collections and the second lot of orders are being collected today.

  • Mine just arrived! Aust post tracking just didn't update for some reason. Cheers

    • Mine too arrived yesterday. Looks sturdy.
