+2 votesEverything on the xbox is region locked, dvd's and stuff, ps3 is only partly region locked, can play 3d blu-rays or standard blu-rays or even games from any region, although still region locked on dvds, the ps3 is a better deal in my opinion (Blu-ray drive, 3d blu-rays, free online play, or if u pay $70 for ps plus you get motorstorm, little big planet 2, warhamer 40k, infamous 2) but depends what games u want, halo/gears of war(xbox) or Uncharted/little big planet(ps3), do some research on the games u like and what console they are on
+5 votesibbargainer on 20/06/2012 - 01:14 ¶I have an Xbox 360 (60gb pro) and I can say this honestly: get the PS3. 4 years ago, when I got it, the Xbox 360 had a far superior library of exclusive titles, quantity of titles and quality of titles, but now, it's just been completely overtaken by the PS3. I love Halo and Gears but I'm heaps envious of all the exclusives the PS3 seems to keep getting non-stop (I'm looking at you Uncharted, God of War, Last of Us (GRRRR!)). Although, I must say, because we're so late into the development cycle of this generation there are heaps of third-party games to choose from, so it's not as big a loss to choose one console over another as it used to be.
Although, if you're into shooters, which I mainly am, get the Xbox. The controller is hands down the best for shooters (and pretty much any genre except fighters IMHO) and that's what the console excels at.
And no, the Xbox 360 doesn't do 3D as far as I'm aware.

If you don't already have GT5 or Uncharted 2, the $248 Big W deal is an OK consolation prize if Kmart sell out. Picked mine up from QV Melbourne on Saturday. That deal might have already increased your chances of Kmart stock since it's been on since Thursday and is actually better value for those that are interested in one of those games.

Yeah I think I'm better going with the BIG W bundle now I am going to choose GT5 what game did you choose?
I went Uncharted 2 because the original catalogue that Big W had online for this sale had GT5 for $25 as well so I thought I'd bundle Uncharted and then buy GT5. Now the new Big W catalogue doesn't have the $25 deal but has a 2 for $38 sale with titles varying from store to store. I'm going down to Big W on Thursday to see if GT5 turns up as part of that deal there. It's $28 at EB Games now so I have a backup plan anyway ;)

Big W 2-for-$38 deal could be hit and miss. Some stores might have lots of good games while others have crap. You can't really lose though, as I said GT5 is now $28 at EB Games and if you can wait a week or two for delivery Uncharted 2 is around $22 delivered from dvd.do.uk (or part of their 2 for £25 deal, Red Dead Redemption too which is cool). Lots of bargains right now.

Ok guys I just purchased the ps3. Apparently some items were scanning in at sale prices already. There are none left at Hornsby. But a shipment is supposed to coming in the next few hours. Chatswood has about 5. They open at 6am

Are the kmarts any good in the eastern states? In SA the stores are very "dated" and prices are always way more expensive than target + bigw, at all times.
