This is a decent game and certainly worth it at this price. Quick & easy to play and supports up to 6. It will be supported for a while as the publisher is releasing new realms (promos) with each new game they develop and even from other publishers/designers.

Can anyone sell (as in convince) this game to me? I struggle with general internet reviews, as I never know how unbiased they are. And a rating of 7.2 doesn't really tell me anything. I've had games rated 5 that I've liked, and games rated 8.9 which I really dislike.

      It's 57% off

Maybe give us a clue which games you did and didn't like, and people can then comment on how suitable the game might be.

      • Good call to share more. I've played and enjoyed Cartographers and the rail one (whose name eludes me atm, where you roll dice and draw tracks). They're the most similar ones I can think of to how I picture this game.

    • Seems like it's best suited to those who are familiar with (and enjoy) the Stonemaier game collection. If you are one of those people, it might be worth it? I only have Wingspan and others I play with are generally not big gamers so I'm gonna pass.

I wouldn't agree with that necessarily. You may find more nuance understanding the Stonemaier games they are based on, but its not required. You can get realms based on other games that are not Stonemaier titles - Honey Buzz, A Feast For Odin, Terra Mystica (etc).
Its a game for people who like Roll N Writes. Roll dice, mark off some stuff, try to chain some bonuses for efficiency and high score.

    • I'm in the same boat as you. I enjoy Catan, Carcassonne and pandemic. Enjoy playing with mates. Time goes quick and they're longish games. Would you guys recommend me this?

This, like many other roll and writes, are quite different to the games you listed because they generally have very low player interaction, as you are mainly focused on your own puzzle. If you’re into a multiplayer solitaire experience, you might like it.

    • I never know how unbiased they are

Doesn't board game geek generate its rating from user scores? Or does it include critic reviews? If it is solely from user scores then that would have to be the most unbiased way to rate a board game.

Saying user reviews are unbiased is ridiculous. Ever heard of review bombing? Sock puppets? Bots? There are any number of ways user reviews can be gamed.
Maybe boardgamegeek has less of a problem with those than other sites I don't know.
Anyway reviews are opinions, otherwise they are just descriptions. So they always involve some kind of biases, conscious or unconscious.

Pretty sure it's users ratings only. Though the publishers can always spam ratings
