out of stock Toshiba Deal from Dick Smith $595 for a Intel Core i7-2630QM (2GHz)
This was posted 11 months 2 days ago, and might be an out-dated deal
Seems a good price to me for an 2nd Gen Core i7 all-rounder brand name computer. I am tempted to get one.
Key features:
The integrated TV Tuner lets you tune in to analogue and digital TV.
Resolution+ upscales standard definition DVD to near-HD. It also improves standard TV and online videos, noticeably improving the quality.
Harman Kardon speakers combined with Dolby audio processing deliver extraordinary soundscapes and immersive gameplay.
Sleep & Music lets you play your MP3 player through the P750's speakers even when the notebook is asleep or powered off.
USB Sleep-and-charge makes it easy to recharge electronic devices whether the notebook is powered on or in sleep mode – leave those AC adapters behind.
Toshiba's PC Health Monitor lets you actively monitor and tune your notebook via an interface that's as easy to use as the dashboard of a car.

Devils Advocate on 21/06/2012 - 17:52 ¶Yeah I was looking at this laptop earlier as well. Still haven't made up my mind. It's missing USB 3.0, a backlit keyboard and the graphics card isn't great (which are important factors for me). But now for this price I might just bite the bullet and get it

+2 votesNot Bad. I'm in the market for a new laptop at the moment. The Toshiba Satellite L750/0LM is going for $149 more.
With that comes extra 4gb ram, 2.2GHz 2nd gen i7, extra 1gb graphics and one usb 3.0 (don't know if the P750/02J does).

I posted this in the forums 4 hours ago, Not much stock so didn't think it was worthy of a listing :(
Great deal though for anyone that gets one.

Ivy has minimal performance increases and is more focused towards energy efficiency - which doesn't matter in a laptop that would use huge amounts of power and have battery life is 2-3 hours anyway.
+1 voteIt depends on the chipset on the Ivy Bridge laptop.
Assuming the new laptop uses the new H77/Z77 chipset, USB3 is provided by default, so is SATA3. In that case, there is no reason for the laptop makers not to offer them. P.S. Apple offer USB3 on their latest gen laptops because intel throws them in for free in the new chipset.Ivy bridge CPUs only provide 10% advantage at best…

+6 votesThere is a pretty good deal here:

If you are after a laptop and cant get one of the Toshiba's.
+2 votesAll these laptops are now fantastic prices because of the rise of Ultrabooks. That one from JB is a 3rd gen i7 and under $800, wow. Really depends on how long you want it to last and still be relevant. You'll have to be happy to live without SSD's and USB 3.0 for these prices.

Do you think this is much better than Toshiba L750/0S5 from DSE?
It seems they have the same i5 processor, 4GB memory but L750 has 750GB instead?

Want it but must resist. Must resist! I've got a laptop I bought 6 months ago after getting overexcited here- I've used it less than half an hour.
