How Long before Gen 13 Bring down The Price of 12 Laptops

Want to buy a notebook like a Intel Core i7-12700H with a 3060 or 70 video.
Way overdue on an upgrade is there a strategy on timing to buy like Black Friday, End of year, Ebay 20% off runs
Love to know how when and where you smashed a deal over what event in the past on previous Gens
Thanks

According to my series of complex algorithms the answer is…..

    127 days 12 hours 37 minutes

    • I heard 136 days

    • But what time zone are we talking here?

They are still selling pentium N5030 based laptops released in 2019, in NEW laptops.
Australia is a large dumping ground for crap because people here buy it.
Most sales people are either deliberate liars or have zero clue (mostly latter) and happily recommend old tech at full retail prices.

You are best to just wait for deals and sales on similar products to what you want. End of year sales are coming so HODL.

    • Thanks that kind of sums it all up for me now.

    • Most people are happy to spend less money on things they don't really care.

In some poorer countries they still selling celeron and pentium with 4gb ram configs.

The N3050 is a nice budget chip, cost wise and thermally. It's max 6w TDP and runs even lower when idle. Means no need for extensive cooling system and lower requirements for power management. Both involves lots of cost saving. So it's most light processing applications where battery life matters.

  • The interesting point will be when AMD's Phoenix Point and Dragon Range laptops get released. Sometime in 2023 currently.

As far as laptops are concerned, 13th gen Intel offers little because of the power inefficiency they demonstrate - whereas the AMD chips seem all out on the graphics front, and up to 16 cores on the CPU.
