    Nice.

Great controller, but this is pretty expensive

    • My guess is they are reducing the price for this because the 8bitdo ultimate wireless Bluetooth controller just launched. If you think this is expensive, the ultimate wireless is close to $150AUD on Amazon.

I have three of these (1 of each colour). I don't think I've paid more than $60, maybe $65, each including delivery
I guess inflation and 8BitDo getting more popular has increased the price

      • effectively $10 less than a switch pro on sale

has the 8bitdo been cheaper? because may as well get the original if switch is your goal

        • It has been $59 on multiple occasions

      • Now why in the world would they suddenly change and swap the left analog and the dpad… the whole reason why I liked 8bitdo is because their dpad and analog placement is exactly same as playstation's

        • Looks like they’re copying the Xbox layout
I actually like the Wii U Pro Controller’s layout. The analog sticks are above the d-pad and ABXY buttons on both sides
I could use both the buttons (with thumb) and analog stick (index finger) at the same time with the Wii U Pro. Can’t do with the PlayStation/Xbox controllers

        • The pro 2 will still be sold, the ultimate wireless is just catering to a different crowd. I ordered a couple on the AliExpress sale since I can use them on PC as well. It's still half the price of the power a fusion controller, just with a lot more customisability and hopefully this won't have the deadspot issues that the power a controller has (faceplates block full travel of analog sticks). Hopefully the ergonomics suit me.

JB happily priced matched this. Mind you, this was the first time I'd done that with them, so I wasn't sure if it would take a while. The live chat was really convenient.

The grey and classic colours are $70 on JB Commercial

    • Sorry buddy. Just posted a new deal to get it for $59 at JB

looks like your JB deal was taken down. Could you update this post to share the details of how to get $59?

Would rather get a cheap PS5 or Xbox series X controller instead.

yeh good luck with those on a switch

Well I don’t have one. It’ll be for my PC only

Congratulations on owning a PC that you will be playing games on

Awesome controller if you into switch, pc, mac, android and ios gaming. BRILLIANT!

    • +1

Agreed. Use mine for Switch and PC and it works great.

    • I don't mean to be sour here but for whatever reason, the pro 2 controller keeps dropping off inputs when I used it for PC gaming but not for switch. Thankfully the fix is to just click on another window and then back on the game window and the game can receive input from pro 2 controller again.

But the thing is, it can't be my PC either because the old pro controller and PS4 and PS5 controller worked just fine with no dropout, so I dunno what the hell is wrong with the pro 2 controller and my PC. Thankfully I was able to get refund from JB for this

      • Did you have the latest firmware?

        • Yep, certainly did

    • Works a treat on the ipad. I was about to buy a 2nd but I see ios now supports Nintendo controller so might try that instead.

  • Pricey but still has a great feature set and superior device compatibility. Highly recommended

  • Got the JB deal (with Perk). Thanks, Op. awesome deal.

I used the JB deal as well. The support team tried to price match to the Mwave cost + shipping but I let them know that you can pick-up from Mwave NSW warehouse and they backed down to the $69.

  • This or pro controller for switch?

    • +1

The Pro Controller is more comfortable (but both are fine for me), has NFT for scanning Amiibo, and can turn on the Switch remotely. You'll need to turn on the Switch another way with the 8BitDo.

However, the 8BitDo has a few advantages (e.g. connecting to other devices, and programmable buttons), the biggest being that it has two buttons on the back. I find this absolutely great for games that have a face button for run, such as Breath of the Wild, or Immortals: Fenyx Rising. I didn't have it for BotW, but I used it heaps in I:FR, and it was great, to be able to control the camera with the right stick while running. This alone makes it worthwhile as I'm going to use it all the time for Tears of the Kingdom.

So, it depends on the games you'll play.
